Talkin' Bout My Designation

Harley-Davidson model number designations can be confusing to decipher. One of the longest traditions of Harley-Davidson seems to be the manner in which the motor company assigns model numbers. While there appears to be some sort of rhyme or reason to some designations, others seem to make little sense. Rather than pretending to understand what the motor company was thinking when they handed out model numbers, here is a list below for reference.

Good Things do Come in Small Packages

We rarely come across a mechanics tool that we call "cute" but in the case of CruzTOOLS MiniSet, this tag is unavoidable. The ratchet set provides just what you're likely to need for basic maintenance and repair procedures. The four most commonly used hex head sockets - 3/8", 7/16", 1/2" and 10mm for battery connections are included as are the 3/16" and 1/4" Allen and T25 and T27 Torx keys that come in to play so frequently. CruzTOOLS combined the road-proven EconoKIT H1 with the best of our MiniSet into this potent new roadside solution. Like the H1, it includes our top-grade PowerDrive™ combination wrenches, an adjustable wrench, locking pliers, LED flashlight, tire gauge, hex and Torx keys, screwdriver and more. But you'll also love the mini ratchet and socket set, making this the last tool kit you'll ever need to buy.
Stop in and grab a tool kit so you are ready for the road and don't forget your HV HOG discounts.

Genuine Harley-Davidson Tool Kits are also available. There are tool kits that are model specific and there is also a generic all-purpose tool kit.
Snap-on Tools also makes a Harley- Davidson branded tool kit. Ask Bill or Carrie at Prestige Harley-Davidson which tool kit will best fit your needs.

SEEing is Believing

Safe riding is a skill of the eyes and mind as much as it is a skill of the hands and feet. It's important that riders have well-developed perceptive skills. Having good perception means to "see and understand accurately." Our eyes see but our mind interprets, and sometimes we can be fooled into perceiving something that's not there or missing something that is; and that can be disastrous when evaluating risk factors in traffic.
The MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) Rider Courses use the strategy of Search, Evaluate, Execute (S.E.E.) to describe the decision-making process that should be used while riding. Our eyes do the searching and our brain does the evaluating. But do we perceive accurately?

Take a look at these visual workouts below to discover how our eyes can sometimes trick us.....
