the
Rise
Just
a
quick
reminder
to
everyone
that
as
riding
season
is
starting
up,
so
is
the
time
for
bike
thieves
to
get
to
work.
We
have
seen
a
sudden
spike
in
stolen
motorcycles,
so
I
just
wanted
to
give
everyone
a
few
tips
on
how
to
protect
your
motorcycle.
First,
I
cannot
stress
the
importance
of
carrying
full-coverage
insurance
on
your
bike.
Everyone
hates
it
and
dreads
paying
those
premiums,
but
it
is
better
to
pay
a
small
premium
than
to
pay
for
a
motorcycle
that
you
don't
own!
Second,
be
careful
of
new
"friends"
that
are
curious
about
your
motorcycle.
Bike
thieves
are
smart,
they
will
ask
what
seems
to
be
harmless
questions--DON'T
GIVE
STRANGERS
INFORMATION
ABOUT
YOUR
BIKE!!!!
Finally,
protect
your
bike!
We
strongly
recommend
some
sort
of
passive
anti-theft
device.
Alarms
are
a
good
deterent
for
amateur
thieves,
but
we
highly
recommend
Lojack
with
the
early
warning
system.
With
the
new
Early
Warning
Lojack,
if
someone
is
moving
your
motorcycle,
you
will
be
notified
at
5
different
points
of
contact
(cell
phone,
work
phone,
text
page,
email,
etc..).
We
think
it
is
the
best
innovation
we
have
seen
in
motorcycle
recovery
in
several
years.
Lastly,
keep
your
bike
secured.
Lock
it
with
a
heavy
cable
to
something
like
a
lamp
post.
If
it
has
to
be
parked
outside,
keep
it
in
a
well
lighted
area
and
somewhere
inconspicuous.
We
may
never
be
able
to
stop
bike
theft
all
together,
but
we
can
make
it
harder
for
the
thieves
to
make
a
living!
