H.O.G CHAPTER
GENERAL MEETING
Now for those that haven't been coming to the monthly general meeting held every 3rd Saturday of the month, here is a little info you may not know about....we not only give you updates on all the events but we do a "ROLL OVER" drawing. For those that don't know what that is....every member's name is put in a bag, a name is drawn at every monthly meeting, if you're not there at the time of the drawing you loose out on a cash prize. We put more cash in the kitty everytime someone is not present to collect it. We also have giveaways. Gee wiz folks, it is just one Saturday out of the month and this meeting is so informative. For those that are new, come meet the gang. Our NEXT MONTHLY GENERAL MEETING IS MAY 19TH, AT 9:00AM.
We are looking forward to seeing you there.

A WORD FROM OUR DIRECTOR
TOM FOSTER
Bike week has come and gone and now the best part of the riding season is in front of us.
The primary officers recently attended this years Primary Officer Training or (P.O.T.) and learned many new things to bring back to the Chapter. Bike week has come and gone and now the best part of the riding season is in front of us. We will try some new ideas to make our Chapter even better and, of course we will be spending a lot of time riding and having fun.
As members of the Chapter we relish in any new ideas you may have. Whether it’s a ride, a place to dine or some upcoming event, let us know what you would like to do. We will try and make it happen.
Life is more than just a poker run. Feel free to approach us at meetings, call or email us. We are here to make sure you enjoy the riding experience.
With that said, we will see you at the next event. Don’t put the kickstand down, put it up and head down the road.
Your Director
Tom Foster

SUGGESTION BOX ON THE SIDE BAR
You may have noticed that there is a suggestion box on the sidebar. We hope you will use it to let us know what you would like to see the Chapter do more of.

ACTIVITIES AND MORE
On Wednesday Evening Starting at 6PM
FOLLOWING the
Saturday General Meeting
A "Must Do" to discuss all the things we can do together....share your ideas, have a great meal, meet other members you havent had a chance to meet yet. This gives us a great opportunity to meet somewhere else and let our hair down (so to speak).

By now most of you know that, as of March, we will be MEETING AT FINS RESTAURANT located on Power Road, South of Baseline on the East side.

Dave “Sarge” Staley,
Chapter Photographer
Superstition H.O.G 2007
Sarge's duties include taking pictures of Chapter events and rides for Chapter publications, H.O.G. Tales and Chapter history album. Sarge is devoted to riding; rain, snow, sunny or hot. Sarge has been an active Chapter member since 2006. He rides a 2004 Electra Glide Classic and has been riding for 40 years. He has been an AZ resident for 45 years. Sarge and his wife, Joyce, also a Chapter member and a member of LOH, reside in Mesa.
Sarge is a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He is a man who loves the freedom of riding.
His favorite food is cooked and doesn’t like Sushi, “bait” as he calls it. His favorite ride is just put him and Joyce in the pack and lets ride. Sarge, has worked on motorcycles and cars most of his life. He has built a great looking trike, which at present he still owns.
He has participated in reenacting civil war battles, and gun fights in western towns. A rebel at heart and truly a character member of our chapter, if you see him pointing something at you, it’s his camera.

RANGER ED FAIN
Lead Road Captain 2007
Ranger Ed has been a H.O.G. member for 17 years and riding for 48 years. He has been a Road Captain since the certification of the Superstition Chapter. He rode with the East Valley Chapter, and became a Charter member of Superstition. He was present at the first Superstition General Meeting. Ranger Ed is definitely one of the character members of the Chapter. He is well liked and respected by all members and is a great rider.
He rides a 2005 Road King. A retired Air Force veteran of 21 years, served as a Transportation Superintendent. He retired from GM Proving Grounds.
Ranger Ed hails from Hamilton, OH, born in Kentucky (The land of fast women and pretty horses) He has been a resident, on and off, of AZ for 33yrs, and also has a brother in Arizona. He has family in Ohio and Kentucky. Ranger Ed’s favorite food is anything cooked (no sushi). His favorite ride was a solo ride through Northern AZ and Utah, which took some 8 days. His favorite Chapter ride was the Tombstone overnight trip.
Ranger Ed wants our Chapter to Ride and have a Good Time…….A REAL GOOD TIME, (this must be one of many reasons why Ranger Ed loves the Tombstone Run) and to ride safe.
One thing for sure is wherever the Chapter is partying Ranger Ed is there to make sure we’re having a good time.
As Arizona’s Ranger Ed’s card reads; Lover, Fighter, Wild Bull Emptied, Tigers Tamed. You get the idea.

Impromptu Ride to the Sundial Garden Café
in Carefree
The ride was led by Road Captain John “Cat” with Larry riding sweep. After the pre ride briefing the group of 16 riders headed out on the following route: Ellsworth Rd. to Usury Pass to the Bush Hwy to RT87 south. Than to the Fort McDowell Casino and McDowell Mountain Rd. to Rio Verde Dr. and Dynamite Blvd to Pima Rd and into Carefree.
The problem with Carefree is the noise police, they are waiting for bikes. John “Cat” commented at the pre ride briefing not to race your engines and to cruise into Carefree. GOOD LUCK BROTHERS, I hear the fines are pretty steep.
Carefree in area is only 8.5 square miles. The town was incorporated in 1984 and has a population of 3,684 (2005 -census). There are rock stars, sports stars and TV personalities that live there. They have there own airport too. You have to go thru Carefree to get to Cave Creek, (a real friendly biker destination).
I’m told the breakfast at the Sundial Garden Café is worth the ride. It was a beautiful morning for a ride and going thru Rio Verde is always a great ride with some of AZ’s great scenery.
No reports of any noise tickets. That’s always good news.
Thank you George and the Gang for the article.

Saturday April 14, 2007 Cycleriders.Com hosted the Hearts to Heroes Ride to support our troops. Although this was a non chapter ride some Chapter members attended to support our troops. The ride sign-in started at 7AM at the Christ’s Church of the Valley on W Happy Valley Rd. the cost was $15.00 per person and a small bag of needed goods for the troops. Ride pins were $5.00. There was a live satellite feed from Iraq to the families here at home. The group then rode to PIR for a lap around the track. The program was shown live on The Pentagon Channel.
The ride ended at Westgate City Center in Glendale with live music by Rondavous and there was a live performance by Jesse McGuire. Food and drinks were available 12-3pm.
