With a 15 mile course through rain, wind, snow sleet and sunshine, anything can happen at Starvation Ridge. What an incredible event! It wound through a house, a barn, pumkin patch (rocks spray painted orange), briar patch, and a really tight forest trail. The ridge turns into a mini moto camp. With 45 teams and 9 Ironmen it was crazy. The Motosport Expert Open team of Dan Jordan, Darrell Tucker, Alex Erland, Mike Remington, Tye Crandal and the ringer Jason McCormick with crewmen Grant Riemann, Ed Bartlett and 2003 Ironman Gary Roe. The team had a few problems like the flat tire Jason got. All in all it went well with the our team taking 2nd only by minutes. Tracy Roe, former owner of Hillsboro Motorcycles rode on a womens team taking 2nd also. I helped score on and off all night I was also helping pit for the Trackmaster team of local riders who purchased hondas from me along with Ironman Steve Corrie who took over the throne from Gary Roe breaking his record only by 1/2 lap. Winning the $250 bounty on Gary's title. - Elaine Derrick, ProMoto Promotions |
