Gas
Tip
#7When
trying
to
figure
your
vehicle’s
gas
mileage,
there
are
a
couple
things
to
remember:
First,
the
gas
mileage
figures
in
your
owner’s
manual
may
not
reflect
your
vehicle’s
fuel
economy.
The
tested
bikes
are
operated
in
the
most
efficient
way
in
order
to
produce
optimal
numbers.
Your
riding
style
and
riding
environment
will
produce
different
figures.
When
determining
your
fuel
economy,
be
sure
to
check
your
mileage
correctly.
Fill
your
tank,
record
the
odometer
reading,
and
ride
until
you
need
fuel.
Fill
your
tank
and
record
the
amount
of
gallons
needed.
Divide
the
gallons
by
the
total
miles
traveled
since
your
last
fill-up.
That
number
is
a
reasonable
estimate
of
your
vehicle’s
working
gas
mileage.
You
will
need
to
record
your
mileage
between
five
or
six
tanks
in
order
to
obtain
a
reasonable
average.
