NEWSLETTER |

A
NOTE
FROM
THE
DIRECTOR
Sometimes
as
I
am
driving
down
the
road,
sitting
at
my
desk
or
just
lying
around
the
house,
my
mind
wanders
to
the
open
road
on
my
HD
motorcycle.
These
thoughts
can
not
be
contained.
They
just
keep
rolling
through
the
old
gray
matter.
With
the
riding
season
in
full
swing
and
the
new
bikes
hitting
the
showrooms,
it
makes
it
all
the
harder
to
concentrate
on
the
chores
at
hand.
Although
the
wife
frequently
reminds
me
of
the
“honey
do’s”
I
keep
putting
off
and
says
something
to
the
effect
of
where
is
my
head
at?
Well,
we
all
know
where
our
heads
are
at!
Screaming
down
the
road
headed
for
parts
unknown
and
can’t
wait
to
get
there.
Grit
in
our
hair,
bugs
on
our
teeth
and
a
primal
urge
in
our
heart.
It’s
hard
to
explain,
but
those
of
you
who
have
this
problem
can
relate.
The
best
cure
is
to
jump
on
the
bike
and
start
riding.
I
guarantee
the
fun
will
follow.
And,
getting
back
to
the
“honey
do’s”,
as
I’m
climbing
onto
my
bike,
I
told
the
wife
that
I
would
finish
the
projects
I
had
started,
as
soon
as
I
get
back.
Incidentally,
I
am
looking
for
volunteers
to
help
me
get
the
Christmas
lights
down.
No,
wait,
I
just
put
them
up
early.
Yeah,
that’s
it.
See
you
on
the
open
road.
I’ll
be
the
one
with
that
huge
smile
and
all
the
bugs.

FROM
OUR
SPONSORS
Greetings
H.O.G.
Chapter
Members,
As
you
probably
know
by
now,
the
2008
Harley-Davidson
model
year
has
begun.
There
are
some
great
new
models
coming
out
like
the
Rocker
and
the
Rocker-C.
Also,
don’t
forget
the
mean
looking
all
new
Fat
Bob.
These
new
models
should
be
released
after
September
1st.
They’re
already
creating
quite
a
stir
within
the
Dealership.
And
if
you
haven’t
seen
the
beautiful
105th
Anniversary
colors
yet
you
are
missing
it!!!
Anyone
interested
in
purchasing
a
new
105th
Anniversary
model
motorcycle
better
do
so
fast
because
they’ll
only
be
manufactured
up
until
December
31,
2007.
They
are
serialized
and
not
every
model
comes
in
the
105th
Anniversary
colors.
Mark
the
date
on
your
calendar
of
September
8th.
That
is
our
Full
Metal
Attraction
National
Open
House.
We
have
a
lot
in
store
for
everyone’s
entertainment
and
lots
of
free
food.
If
you’re
planning
on
riding
back
for
the
105th
Anniversary
celebration
the
dates
are
August
28
through
August
31st
of
2008.
Log
on
for
your
housing
reservations
and
don’t
forget
to
purchase
your
tickets
to
the
event.
Also,
you
need
a
separate
ticket
for
the
25th
Anniversary
of
H.O.G.
event.
That
reminds
me
of
another
story.
We
rode
back
to
celebrate
the
95th
Anniversary.
After
our
stop
in
Amarillo,
Texas
we
headed
towards
Oklahoma.
One
of
our
pit
stops
was
Elk
City.
After
we
left
the
highway,
we
stopped
and
topped
off
the
bikes
with
fuel,
and
had
some
water.
We
couldn’t
figure
out
why
so
many
people
were
lining
up
along
each
side
of
the
main
drag,
sitting
in
the
back
of
pick-up
trucks,
folding
chairs,
or
just
standing
facing
the
street.
We
climbed
back
on
our
bikes
and
headed
out
of
town,
at
least
that
was
the
plan.
The
closer
we
got
to
the
highway,
the
more
crowded
it
was
along
side
the
road.
Without
warning,
sirens
started
blaring,
lights
started
flashing
and
the
whole
town
seemed
to
light
up.
We
were
headed
directly
into
the
beginning
of
a
long
awaited
parade
down
old
Route
66
to
celebrate
the
opening
of
the
town’s
new
Route
66
museum.
They
were
taking
all
four
lanes
across
and
here
we
sat,
stopped
on
our
bikes,
looking
ahead
at
the
fire
trucks
coming
right
at
us!
We
quickly
turned
left
down
the
nearest
alley
to
get
out
of
their
way.
That
was
a
close
call.
By
now,
we
could
see
the
interstate
and
it
took
us
a
while
to
figure
out
how
to
get
back
on
the
road.
But
we
did
it.
Don’t
be
left
out
when
the
stories
begin.
Remember,
it’s
the
ride,
not
the
destination.
