The Director's Minute

Dear LOTO Chapter Members,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the great show of support of the new Lake of the Ozarks HOG Chapter last Tuesday night. We have reviewed your surveys that you did and found a lot of helpful information in them for us to set in our different rides and events. Your support in this chapter is the backbone for our chapter. It was so great to see everyone at the meeting and your support of the chapter will be for you all to go out and relay our new chapter to others. I am excited with the new chapter as you all are and I have a vision that this chapter will grow by overwhelming numbers. This is your chapter and we want to see everyone ''Ride and have Fun''. With the chapter being new in the lake area any and all suggestions will be taken and considered to make this chapter a successful one.

Gary

Secretary's Corner

The September meeting was held at the Lake Store on September 18th. There were 44 members and 4 guests present.
Gary Cuendet welcomed all new members and introduced attending officers.
There were no Secretary minutes as this being the first meeting. Motion to accept and seconded.
Jill Mellroy read the treasurer report. We had a beginning balance of $0 with income being $2021.24 and expenses of $1245.19 leaving an ending balance of $776.05 with all expenses paid.
Safety Officer Report was given by Gary Cuendet. Gary stated that there have been a few accidents with deer lately due to the change in weather. The turtles are also starting to move again so be on the lookout for them as well.
Ed Dobson gave the Activities report. A survey was handed out to get input from the members on rides and events. This is your Chapter and we need your input. The events schedule was handed out and the September events were discussed including the ride to Lebanon, Ozark Mountain Chapter Poker run, and the Ozark Harley-Davidson open house.
Jill Mellroy announced that the Chapter t-shirts will be blue We now have rockers, chapter patches, and LOH patches available.
Susie Cuendet gave the LOH report. She explained the purpose of LOH is to get more women involved in activities and to make them feel welcome, both riders and passengers.
The Chapter needs volunteers for road captains. Anyone interested please contact Bill Lasater at the dealership or see Ed Dobson after the meeting.
Debi Fleming requested that everyone who has an email please give it to her for the newsletter distribution. It saves the Chapter a lot of mailing fees if we can send it electronically. We are looking for pictures from the members that are taken at other events and rides. We have a scrapbook started and will be adding pictures from our events but can use others also. Send them to Debi Fleming or bring them to the meetings.
Brian Black explained the mileage program to the members. Enrollment sheets were handed out and members urged to fill them out and return them to the dealership for signing.
Jack Fleming welcomed the members and explained the Charter Member program. Anyone who joins the Chapter before January 1st 2008 will qualify for charter member status and get a charter member patch.
Discussion on what is a HOG Chapter. Family oriented and non-political organization offered to bring members together for the common interest of promoting motorcycle activities of riding and having fun.
There are three types of activities. Member event is for chapter members only. Closed event is for chapter members and one guest. Open event is for chapter members, national members and all guests.
Tammie Black will be distributing the newsletters so please get those emails to Debi Fleming.
Gary Allen discussed the March of Dimes ride on the 22nd of September. $20 signup fee or can give donation if you are going on the ride to Lebanon that day.
We will be planning next years calendar at the January meeting so all attend if possible.
The Chapter meetings will be on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. The locations will be decided later but they will be moving around the lake area.
50-50 was won by Jack Fleming.
Door prizes were won by Kay Duncan, Brian Black, and Wayne Morgan.
The meeting ended with a group picture.

Assistant Director's Minute
Hello, I am sorry that I missed the first meeting. I was having a little battle with my body sending stones around the inside of my kidney. I would have much rather been at the meeting. It was great to hear that we had forty-four members and four guests at the meeting. That was about half of our members. I think we are at about eighty members strong now.
I cannot thank the volunteers enough that we had selling food and drinks at the Lake of the Ozarks Bike Fest this past weekend. Our chapter was able to raise $648.06 doing the fund raiser. This puts us off to a good start financially. We would not have been able to do this had it not been for the dedication of our volunteers. Thank you very much for your time and efforts.
Ed had a survey that a few of you filled out during the meeting. This survey gives us and idea of what you want to do in the chapter in the future. From what I have seen of the survey so far, we have a mix of rides requests. When the officers have their meeting in January we will be using the results of the surveys to plan next year. You may see another survey between now and then so we can get a better idea of where you may want to go and what fun activities you will want. When you see it, please take the time to fill it out and let us know what your chapter can do for you.
It is our goal in this chapter to make it fun for you and your family. We are here to bring all the members together for our common interest of motorcycling and activities to “Ride and Have Fun”. Keep the shinny side up….until we meet again,

Tony Mellroy
Assistant Director

A Message From The Editor

Hi, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to those of you who don’t know me. My name is Tammie Black and I am the editor for the new Lake of the Ozarks Chapter. I am very excited to be part of this new chapter and look forward to meeting new people and doing new things. One thing that you will hear over and over again is this is YOUR chapter. If you have ideas, suggestions or comments, please contact one of the officers listed to the left and let us know. Another thing you will hear a lot is the main ‘mission’ of this chapter is “To Ride and Have Fun.” That is what it is all about—getting out, riding with your new family and having fun.
Again, I look forward to being your editor and if you there is something that you would like to see in the newsletter, let me know and we will see what we can do. A special thanks to our sponsors, Jef and Jack Fleming for all that they have done, do and will continue to do to make sure that this chapter is as successful as we can be.

Tammie :)

Chapter T-Shirts
During the first meeting, we had available the color of t-shirts we would like to have for the chapter. Many of you have asked about paying for them already. We will not be taking money up front but orders through the November meeting. Please see Jill Mellroy or any of the officers to place your order. We would like for everyone in our Chapter to have them so that when we have Chapter events we can all wear them. Remember, this is your Chapter so please let us know if you have suggestions or comments.
