Part
2
(Superstition
H.O.G.
Director
Tom
Foster
takes
on
on
part
2
of
his
journey
that
started
in
last
months
newsletter)
Continuing
last
month’s
ride,
after
a
great
night
in
Mexican
Hat,
we
got
up
early
to
hit
the
road.
Some
of
the
fella’s
were
going
to
head
back
and
three
of
us
planned
to
continue
on.
We
decided
to
head
North
to
Durango.
The
weekend
was
the
same
as
the
Four
Corners
Rally
and
we
wanted
to
stop
there
on
the
way
home.
We
rode
via
Ship
Rock
and
headed
up
the
mountain.
Because
of
the
rally
there
were
bikes
everywhere.
When
we
got
to
Durango,
of
course
we
stopped
at
the
local
HD
dealer.
From
there
we
went
into
town
for
lunch.
Durango
is
a
great
place
to
visit
and
ride
through.
After
lunch
it
started
to
rain,
again,
so
we
got
out
the
rain
gear
and
headed
north
to
Pagosa
Springs.
One
of
the
riders,
Rene,
had
friends
there
and
they
invited
us
to
stay
with
them.
They
have
a
beautiful
home
in
the
mountains
with
fantastic
views.
Above
their
garage
they
have
a
huge
room.
This
was
where
we
crashed
for
the
night.
Got
out
the
old
sleeping
bags
and
did
the
floor
thing
(not
recommended).
The
next
morning
we
were
all
hurting
pretty
bad.
It’s
been
a
long
time
since
we
slept
in
sleeping
bags
and
the
old
floor
was
really
hard.
These
old
bones
aren’t
used
to
that
(more
on
this
later).
Once
we
worked
out
the
kinks
in
the
joints
we
headed
up
the
mountain
to
get
some
pictures
from
the
overlook.
Got
our
pictures
and
fed
the
chipmunks.
Unfortunately,
it
was
time
to
start
homeward.
We
rode
down
the
hill
to
Mancos,
below
Durango.
This
is
where
Andy
was
promoting
the
Sugar
Pine
Ranch
Rally
(part
of
the
Four
Corners
weekend).
We
hooked
up
with
Andy,
planning
to
just
spend
the
day.
He
asked
us
to
stay
but
all
we
could
think
about
was
those
sleeping
bags
and
aching
joints.
Low
and
behold,
there
was
a
vendor
there
that
provided
a
2
man
tent,
thick
air
mattresses
(the
bones
were
very
grateful),
2
chairs,
2
sleeping
bags
and
a
cooler.
You
just
gotta
love
America.
We
decided
to
stay
and
had
a
great
time.
Next
year
we
are
planning
to
attend
for
all
three
days.
It’s
a
great
spot
surrounded
by
mountains
and
beautiful
views.
There
were
vendors
of
all
kinds,
bands
and
a
free
shuttle
to
get
you
around.
This
was
definitely
worth
the
trip.
In
the
morning
we
were
fresh
as
daisies
thanks
to
those
nice
thick
air
mattresses.
We
hopped
on
our
bikes
and
headed
for
Holbrook.
Low
and
behold
no
rooms.
Forgot
it
was
a
holiday
weekend.
Duh!
So
we
continued
to
Heber
and
guess
what,
no
rooms.
We
were
really
getting
tired.
Fortunately
there
were
rooms
available
in
Payson.
The
hotel
had
a
nice
Jacuzzi
and
pool.
Needless
to
say,
we
spent
quite
awhile
in
the
Jacuzzi.
We
got
up
early
the
next
morning
and
headed
down
to
home
(wanted
to
beat
the
heat).
All
in
all
it
was
a
great
trip.
No
bulls
were
slapped
and
we
didn’t
see
that
“police”
officer,
but
it
was
great
fun.
If
you
have
the
chance
I
highly
recommend
on
your
next
trip
going
with
no
plans,
just
winging
it.
See
you
on
the
road!
