Chapter T-Shirts
During the first meeting, we had available the color of t-shirts we would like to have for the chapter. Many of you have asked about paying for them already. We will not be taking money up front but orders through the November meeting. Please see Jill Mellroy or any of the officers to place your order. We would like for everyone in our Chapter to have them so that when we have Chapter events we can all wear them. Remember, this is your Chapter so please let us know if you have suggestions or comments.

This is your opportunity to become a lasting part of the Harley-Davidson Museum, opening in 2008 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Express your connection of Harley-Davidson through the creation of an authentic stainless steel rivet customized with your name and a statement all your own. Your rivet will be displayed on either a curved steel wall or a special plaza on the grounds of the Harley-Davidson Museum. These walls and plazas will display thousands of stories, experiences and connections among Harley-Davidson riders, dealers and friends.

The Director's Minute
I hope everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving Holiday. Our next meeting will be December 20, 2007 at 7:00 pm at J.J. Twiggs in Lake Ozark at the intersection of Highway HH and Business Hwy. 54. If you are going to have dinner you might want to come around 6:00 pm. before the meeting begins.
Also don’t forget our Pictures With Santa and Ladies Of Harley Bake Sale coming up on Dec. 15, 2007 between the hours of 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. I hope you all were able to take the flyers given to you at the last meeting and have handed them out or placed them in areas that will enable us to get as many children to attend as possible. Pictures taken with Santa will be $3.00 a piece. Susie will be calling the members this week that placed their name on the volunteer list to help.
Our Christmas Party for our members will be December 15, 2007 at Port Arrowhead Marina and Resort. Dinner Buffet and Party begins at 6:00 pm till? If you plan to attend, everyone needs to be signed up no later than Dec. 11, 2007. Anyone who has not signed up may do so with Tony Mellroy or Bill Horton at Lake of the Ozarks Harley Davidson Store. Tickets are $25.00 a piece and must be paid before Dec. 11, 2007.
I am very pleased with the amount of people attending our meetings here at the Lake Chapter. It shows there is a large number of devoted people in this lake area that want to see this Chapter grow not only in numbers but in strength around the local area to show others we can ‘’ride and have fun’’!!!!

Come enjoy the bake sale and get your picture taken with Santa.

Assistant Director's Minute
I finally made it to a meeting and it was a good one. I was glad to see all the smiling faces and have an opportunity to talk with many of you. It seems that we were a little tight on space with the number of members that made it. It is a little hard to find restaurants that can accommodate such a large group. We will keep working on that.
We talked a little about the chapter rivet for the H-D Museum and personal rivets that could be purchased. I just want to remind members that if you do purchase an individual rivet, we would like for you to register your rivet with the Ozark Mountain Chapter of Lebanon (Chapter #2575). If you do that and the chapter has fifteen rivets registered with it, the chapter will get one chapter rivet free. In that case, we will then split the cost ($1500.00) of a rivet between the Ozark Mountain Chapter and Lake of the Ozarks Chapter. This will save each chapter $750.00.
If you do purchase an individual rivet and would like to have it placed next to fellow chapter members, you can call and request that it be placed next to someone else that has purchased one. You will need their conformation number to do this. If you would like, I am collecting individual conformation numbers of chapter members wanting to be together. I will then call in all the numbers at one time and have everyone’s rivet placed next to a group of chapter members. The number that you need to call at the museum to have any of the above mentioned items done is 1-877-436-8738. You can find out more information about the H-D Museum and the rivet by visiting www.h-dmuseum.com/livingthelegend.

Secretary's Corner
The November monthly meeting was held at Tirebiters restaurant on the 20th of November. There were 42 members and 12 guests attending. The meeting was called to order by Gary Cuendet, Director.
Secretary
The Secretaries report was presented as in the newsletter and a motion was made and seconded to accept the report. Motion passed with no questions.
Treasurer
Jill Mellroy read the Treasurers report as of November 20th. We have a starting balance of $1,490.12 with deposits of $1,216.64 for a total of $2,706.76. Expenses incurred for the month were $291.88 leaving a balance of $2,414.88.
Safety Officer
Gary Cuendet gave the Safety report. The deer are moving everywhere so be extra careful.
Activities Officer
Ed Dobson gave the Activities report.

*The Cold Turkey ride went very well. There were 13 bikes and 18 people on the ride. The riders went to Burgers Smokehouse in California.

*We are rapidly outgrowing locations for our meetings. If anyone knows of a restaurant that can accommodate 75 people or more please let Ed know. The next meeting is currently scheduled for JJ Twigs.

*The volunteers for helping with the Santa pictures are Billie Tookmanian and Linda Horton form 11am – 12:30pm, Gloria Jeanis and Aubrey Dobson from 12:30pm to 2pm.

*Reminder of the Christmas party on the 15th of December. Cost is $25 each. There will be a hospitality room set up before and after the dinner for those who wish to get together. If you plan on attending please contact Jill Mellroy as she needs all the money collected and a firm list by December 12th. Directions to Port Arrowhead Resort are Business 54 next to Arrowhead Marina and Bentley’s restaurant in Lake Ozark.
Ladies of Harley
Susie Cuendet gave the Ladies of Harley report. Volunteers are needed for the bake sale. Baked items such as cookies, brownies, candy, etc. are needed and they do not need to be homemade if that is easier. Small quantities are fine. Two flyers were handed out to everyone announcing the bake sale and pictures with Santa. The flyers were designed by students from Camdenton High School with prizes to the winning entries. Please keep one and pass the other one to someone else.
Head Road Captain
Bill Lasater gave the Head Road Captain’s report. Work on a New Years day ride is progressing with more details to follow.
Historian
Tony Mellroy requested photos of rides for the chapter scrapbook.
Dealership
Jack Fleming discussed the weekday ride that went to Cole Camp. There were only 2 riders but there will be more scheduled as the weather permits.
Merchansdise
Jill Mellroy stated that the Chapter merchandise is now located in the lake store for you to purchase. The t-shirts are being ordered.
Assistant Director
Tony Mellroy gave the Assistant Director report. The 2008 pre calendar has been developed. There are 2 poker runs scheduled as fund raisers. He reminded everyone that volunteers are the ones helping make money for the group. One of his charges is to answer questions on the national HOG benefits. One item that comes up a lot is breakdowns. We all know that Harley’s don’t breakdown but if something happens that you need a tow you must call the number on the back of you membership card. The first $100 is covered by HOG with you being responsible for anything over that amount. This is a once a year item. Another question concerns running out of gas. Gas will be brought to you but you must pay for the gas not the delivery. There are higher coverage’s available for additional charges that are in your benefits book.
Director
Gary Cuendet gave the Directors report. The issue of rivets was discussed. There is an individual rivet for $250 that is 3.5” around. There is also a 6” rivet that the Chapters and Dealers can purchase for $1,500. The officers have voted on buying a rivet for our chapter. The rivet will be displayed at the HD museum in Milwaukee. If there are 15 individual rivets purchased between our Chapter and the Lebanon Chapter we will get one 6” rivet free. This will cut our cost in half to $750. To qualify you must call 877-436-8738 and tell them you want to have your rivet assigned to Ozark Mountain Chapter of Lebanon. More information is available on the Harley Davidson web page. The ride to Milwaukee this summer for the 105th anniversary will have one of the starting locations as Lebanon. More info will follow with routes and times.
For those who know him member Gary Allan was in an accident recently. He is still in intensive care. Anyone wanting to find out about his progress can go to internet page www.caringbridge.org/garyallan.
Misc.
We had 2 guests present Chris and Candace Bedney. Candace spoke on behalf of the B.W. Robinson State School for the severely handicapped. They are organizing a statewide ride to raise funds for a new playground at the school. The tentative date is May 5th with donations covering the ride and food afterwards. Local media will be covering this event. They have already raised $65,000 and still need $50,000.

The 50-50 prize was won by Joe Caulfield

The door prizes were won by Peggy Gertner, Bill Horton, and Ingrid Sundquist.
