January 2008 Newsletter

The Director's Minute
Dear Chapter Members,
As we downshift towards the end of our first year I am happy to say we have 139 members on our roster and it is still growing. Over the few months we have been in existence the Chapter is growing, not only in members, but in bonding relationships between members. Our next meeting will be Jan 15, 2008 at the Union Electric Hall. We will have Chili and Oyster Stew prepared for dinner and if you would like to bring any type of side dish that would be great! Dinner will be at 6:00 PM and the meeting will start at 7:00 PM. The map attached in the newsletter will give you the directions if you do not know where the U.E. Hall is located in Lake Ozark.
As we gear up for the upcoming year 2008, we have a lot of Ride and have Fun activities planned. Chapter Challenge, Over night trips, Weekend day rides, and Don’t work on Monday Rides. Plus numerous other planned activities. So please come to the meeting on Jan. 15th and join us in this overview for the upcoming year.
Again I hope everyone has a happy and safe Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. God Bless each and everyone!!!!

Gary E. Cuendet
Director

Assistant Director's Minute
I am writing this the day after Christmas. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and received all the great gifts that they asked Santa for. I sure did. That fat happy fellow all dressed in red brought me everything I wanted. What a great guy. Jill treated me about as well.
I sure had a great time at the Christmas party. I hope that those of you that made it had a wonderful time as well. I was glad to see that so many of you made it despite the bad weather. The food was once again great and the after dinner cocktails were just as filling. I really enjoyed seeing some of you play butt darts at the after party, party. It is a good thing that Jack did not bring his little flask filled up or we could have been in trouble.
Once again we had a great turn-out at the monthly meeting. I did not expect as many in attendance since we had just had the Christmas party. If we have this kind of support during our rides and events, we are going to have a great year of “Riding and Having Fun”. We gained four new members during the meeting. We are now at about 150 members and growing. The charter membership ends the 31st of this month. If you have friends that want to join, they need to sign up prior to the end of the month to be charter members. We have removed the charter member patches from the store stock. If you have not purchased yours yet, you will have to ask Jef or myself to get them for you. If your name is not on the charter member roster, you will not be able to purchase those patches.
Our next meeting will not be held in a local restaurant. We are going to try something different and see how it works out. During our January meeting, we will try covering some of our major events for the upcoming riding season. After the meeting the annual calendar of events will be posted on the Lake of the Ozarks Harley-Davidson web site. This allows you to access our events anytime during the year to see what is going on. We will as well try passing out event sheets at the meeting. We will also be passing out the Chapter Challenge sheets for next year. If you want to know more about what will be going on next year, come to the meeting.
I hope to make it to the polar bear ride on the 1st. Until then, keep the shiney side up.

Tony Mellroy
Assistant Director
