As you all know touring bikes are flooding the streets more than ever. Contrary to the old label people gave these bikes as “geezer glides” you can make them sleeker than most customs now. One of the biggest and most noticeable additions to your customizing process is a wheel.

Harley-Davidson has introduced an 18-inch front wheel (PN#40818-08, retail $1,199.00) for 04 and later touring models. Separate models require different adapter kits for installation. The blade custom front wheel is made from forged billet aluminum then chromed for shine and protection. The flowing curves of the spokes make the bike look as if in motion while it’s sitting still. Aside from design, the wheel also fills the full front fender, while maintaining handling and comfort, so you can get the appearance of a slick chopper front tire with bagger performance!

This is a wheel you’d have to see to truly let its design grab you. If you’re thinking about putting wheels on, or not, it’s still worth checking out.

Slash your way to the front of the custom pack. Slick custom wheel design features ten slim spokes that flow from the center hub and spiral rearward to blend with the outer rim. Forged for strength from 6061 aircraft aluminum, the mirror-polished surface is chrome-plated for a brilliant shine. The forged surfaces resist the elements, and are easy to clean and maintain.
