MDA BIKE TICKET SALES

Since our Betty's passing, several have volunteered to sell the MDA Bike tickets at Cycle Connection on Saturday's. Those so far are Rick and Cinda Sweet, Sandy Golden, Butch and Leila Scott, Ken and Myra Black, Joe and Jill Purinton, Lee and Julie Foster. In the near future, Steve Mounce, Butch and Leila Scott, Rod and Jane Brewer, Melinda and Bernie Milligan, Steve and Ginger Briley, Ken and Myra Black, and Ike and Linda Woodrow are scheduled to volunteer their time. Please contact Cinda Sweet at rcssweet@mchsi.com if you are interested in helping. We have lots of Saturday's to fill.

2008 ROAD CAPTAIN'S

Under the Head Road Captain, Butch Scott, these member's have volunteered to be Road Captain's. Steve Mounce, Ken Black, Bob Frost, David Howard, Bob Ballard, Joe Purinton, Bob Lupini, Marcy and Keith Morris, Jerry Hirsch, Rod Brewer, Mike Boyd, Doug Douthitt, Bill Boyd and Larry Jones. They were presented with bright orange bandana's at the February meeting. They will wear the bandana's around their necks or tied to their mirrors on rides which require several road captains. There will be a lead rider, at least 2 in the middle of the group and a tail feather. A Road Captain meeting is being planned.

Butch suggests that any new rider should ride in the front of the group. Those riding in the back of a group will have to ride faster to keep up. It is very important that a new rider not ride over his or her comfortable speed. We want to keep new riders in our group and not scare them off. If you have any questions on group riding, please contact Butch Scott at hdthunder2000@yahoo.com.

Meeting Greeter's

Greeter's for the past 2 months were Butch and Leila Scott with the help of Jerry Hirsch and Ken Black. Volunteer's for the March meeting are Perry Golden and Greg Short.

MILES TO RIDE CONTEST

At the March meeting, bring in your current mileage. Each month present your monthly mileage and the top 5 will be recognized. At the end of the year, a prize will go to the person with the most miles. There will be a female and male top mileage class.

PIECE OF THE PIE CONTEST

At the February meeting six lucky, outgoing, fun loving people were nominated for the Piece of the Pie contest. However, they were not told just exactly what they were getting into until they were nominated but none declined their nomination. Those nominations were Paula Boyd, Greg Short, Bob Ballard, Rick Cicero, Larry Jones, and Kelly Hale. There will be jars in the "HOG Corner", by the soda machine with these member's pictures on the jars. You can vote by putting money into the jar. The top 2 with the most money collected in the jars will receive a PIE IN THE FACE on March 22nd. There will be an auction on that day to determine who will throw the pies. So, stop by, toss in your change for the one who you would like to win this contest!!! The money collected will go into the H.O.G. Hardship Fund.

Chapter Bylaw's Committee

Volunteer's for a Chapter Bylaw's committee were Leila Scott, Rick Cicero, Joe Purinton, Steve Mounce and Ken Black. Our Joplin H.O.G. Chapter has to go by the rules of the National H.O.G. Charter but each Chapter can have their own Bylaws. They have to be approved by the Officer's and Sponsor before being sent to National H.O.G. The Bylaws will be presented to the members as soon as they are completed and approved.

Check out the Bookshelves

Bob Lupini, with his carpentry skills, has made 2 beautiful book shelves for the H.O.G. room and office. The Chapter used the left over money from 2007 to pay him for his work. Thank you Bob!!!!
