Assistant Director's Minute
Hello.

It was once again nice to see a good number of you at the meeting. We did not have the high numbers as usual but with the weather it made sense. JJ Twiggs was better prepared for us this time by having the outside room set up for us as well. We did not need it but they did help us out.
I need some feed back from the membership. How many miles would you like to ride for the H.O.G. million mile day? I was thinking about 200 miles but by the reactions on some of your faces, it would not be ideal to go that far. I can adjust. If 200 miles seems high, I have a great ride plan for 110 miles. Send me an e-mail or give me a call with your desires.
For those of you who were not at the meeting and are not aware of what the Million Mile Day is all about, you can find out by going to harley-davidson.com and take a gander. The date is set for 30 June 2008 and that falls on a Monday. That will not be a good day for everyone to get a lot of miles due to having to work. You can however add however many miles you log even if it is just going back and forth to work. We will be working on putting an “I don’t work Monday” ride in the schedule so we can try getting a few miles for that day. If you can, come and join us.
I am trying to keep this article short, so I will sign off. Watch those roads this time of year. There is a lot of gravel on them. We have heard of several accidents over the past two weeks related to that. One was a fatality on Hwy W. Be careful out there.

Tony Mellroy
Assistant Director

Bill H. made a motion to accept the minutes from the previous meeting as printed in the newsletter. Motion was passed.
Treasurer
Karen gave the treasurers report. The current balance is $930.73.
Safety
Tony and Allen have information on MSF safety courses if anyone would like to attend. Be very careful this time of year as gravel is washing into the roadway and we have heard of several accidents.
Ladies of Harley
Susie gave the LOH report. She reminded everyone that the scavenger hunt is coming up the 4th of April and she still could use some for the signup and check-in.
Head Road Captain
Bill L. still needs road captains for the next 3 upcoming rides. Gary said that it is not that hard and that anyone can be a captain.
Historian
Karen still can use your photos. She will take them in any format – picture, disk, or email.
Merchandise
Jill has the chapter t-shirts at the dealership now. Patches are also available at the store. If anyone is interested in purchasing a name patch they need to contact Jill. If you had signed up before please give her a call as the list got misplaced and you will need to get sign up again.
Dealership
Jack gave details on the ride to Dallas Texas in May. The price for a room is $90 for 2 queen beds. If you need reservations you can contact Jack.
Membership
Debi gave the membership report and said we currently have approximately 175 members.
Photographer
Jill reminded everyone to take along their cameras on the group rides and take some pictures for the book.
Assistant Director
Tony gave the Assistant Directors report. HOG is having a million mile ride on June 30th. They are trying to get a million miles logged in one day world wide. We will be organizing a ride to Salem on that day and will go around 200 miles. More info will follow.
The state rally is in Springfield this year. Registration opens April 1st and there will be 5 prizes drawn from the early bird entries. Jill and Tony will be carrying the flags at the 105th ride in Milwaukee. Pins from the national HOG were presented to the officers.
Director
Gary reviewed the activities scheduled for the next 2 months.
Gary also presented the Directors report.
Everyone needs to take their cameras on the group rides as a lot of the places we will be riding to are part of the chapter challenge.
Flyers were available from the Hub motel in Arkansas giving prices and other information. Information on the Kansas state rally May 29th thru the 31st was available for anyone who was planning to attend.
Misc.
The 50 -50 was won by Gary Cuendet.

Door prizes were won by Doug Hahl, Dan Weaver, and Lynn Boler.

Meeting adjourned.
