APRIL IS CHECK YOUR HELMET MONTH,
As the motorcycle riding season gets fired up around the country, now is the time to make sure helmets are ready for riding. During April's “Check Your Helmet Month” and throughout the year, motorcycle enthusiasts are reminded to follow a few simple rules to make sure their helmets are ready for summer riding:

Fit is vital – a helmet must fit properly to be effective, and not all helmets fit the same. A good fitting helmet should rest one inch above your eyebrows and shouldn’t roll forward or sideways on your head. To ensure a comfortable fit, wear a helmet for 15 minutes before making a final buying decision.
They don’t last forever – manufacturers and the SNELL Foundation recommend helmets be replaced every three to five years, depending on use. Glues, resins and other helmet materials break down over time and can make a helmet less effective. Every new Harley-Davidson helmet comes with a “purchased on date” sticker that can be placed under the comfort liner for a quick reference.
Keep it clean – a clean and well cared for helmet will protect better and longer. Use a mild soap to wash the outer shell and internal liners. Never use solvents or chemicals for cleaning as they can destroy protective coatings.
Mirrors are not hangers – hanging a helmet on a motorcycle’s mirror can damage the impact absorbing liner inside.
Have our motorclothes specialists, make sure you are ready for this riding season.

Thunder Thursday is coming to High Desert.
Starting in May the last Thursday of the month, we will have live music, and food and beverages. You won't have to cook or clean up. Come by and see your freinds and make some new ones.

Due to popular demand, we are going to go for another customer ride on
April 26th.
This time we are going to do the Emmett Loop and back thru Horeshoe Bend. We leave Birds of Prey at 3:30pm and 4:00pm at High Desert and meet in Eagle and ride together.
Please meet 20 minutes prior to departure time. This is a open ride, all bikes are welcome.

Clear your calenders for July 12th and 13th.
It's going to be the best weekend of your summer.
Trust us, you will want to be a part of this.....More details to come.

2006 Harley-Davidson® XL 883R Sportster®

$7,995.00
For decades, fun could best be defined as a potent engine sitting dead center in a strong, agile frame with nothing but miles of winding asphalt ahead. As long as we keep building and refining the Sportster®, that definition will stay true. If you’ve never swung a leg over, you should. Once astride, twist the throttle and feel the V-Twin generate mounds of torque. It’s a satisfying rush that hits you right in the pit of your stomach. We rubber-mounted the engine to the frame for a more comfortable ride — no road is unfamiliar territory, no journey too far. And though riding a Sportster has always been a blast, we keep finding more ways to make things even more rider friendly. We redesigned the transmission so it shifts smoother. Take a quick trip through the gears and you’ll no doubt appreciate the near-effortless clutch. There’s also improved kickstand ergonomics — now the bike is easier to reach and lift. The pure American street machine just keeps getting better.

Take a look at what just came down victory lane. The Sportster® 883R model is back, cleaner and meaner than ever. Wide rear tire and fender. Staggered shorty dual exhaust pipes. Two-up seat with passenger pegs. Dual disc brakes up front. We stayed true to the authentic H-D racing look, available in three schemes: black on orange, black on black or black on silver. There’s a racy checkered-flag graphic. And check out the blacked-out treatment: satin black calipers, forks, air cleaner cover, handlebars and rear springs. Even the Evolution® engine is cloaked in black. Lift the stand, twist the throttle, and just like that, it’s Saturday night at the racetrack.
