it
look
easy
for
the
second
day
in
a
row
as
he
cruised
to
victory
in
the
AMA
Honda
Superbike
Classic
at
Barber
Motorsports
Park
on
Sunday,
April
19th.
But
after
calling
Saturday's
win
"100
percent
boring,"
he
was
more
diplomatic
when
asked
if
Sunday's
28-lap
race
was
more
challenging.
"Yep,"
he
said.
If
it
was
more
of
a
challenge,
then
it
didn't
look
like
it.
The
Australia
native
beat
his
teammate
and
rival
Ben
Spies
by
more
than
eight
seconds.
Spies,
the
series'
two-time
defending
champion,
kept
up
with
Mladin
for
the
first
few
laps
but
quickly
fell
back.
By
the
halfway
point
he
was
3.3
seconds
back
and
at
one
point
was
almost
10
seconds
behind."I
thought
for
the
first
few
laps
we'd
have
more
|

|
|
of
a
race,"
said
Mladin,
who
has
now
won
four
straight
and
six
of
the
last
eight
races
at
Barber.
"But
I
saw
Ben
had
pretty
much
said
he'd
had
enough
for
the
day."
Spies,
who
crashed
out
on
the
second
lap
of
Saturday's
race,
said
Mladin
"is
riding
really
good
right
now
so
we
have
to
step
it
up
and
win
a
few
races.
We
just
need
to
go
faster
next
time."
Mladin
said
riding
the
heavy
Superbikes
around
the
16-turn
course
takes
a
toll
physically
on
riders.
The
bikes
are
"brutes,"
he
said,
that
have
to
be
muscled
to
make
them
turn.
"Tomorrow
when
I
get
up
I'll
be
sore,"
he
said.
"Everything
will
be
sore,
my
legs
and
back.
That's
what
it
takes
to
win.
Doesn't
help
when
you're
36."

CHECKING
TIRE
PRESSURES
IS
THE
MOST
IMPORTANT
TIRE
MAINTENANCE
FUNCTION
YOU
CAN
PERFORM.
|

|
For
high-speed,
fully
loaded
or
dual-riding
touring
motorcycle
applications,
never
exceed
maximum
load
indicated
on
tire
sidewall
or
vehicle
capacity
load
found
in
owner's
manual.
Underinflated
tires
can
result
in
imprecise
cornering,
higher
running
temperatures,
irregular
tread
wear
at
the
edge
of
the
contact
patch,
fatigue
cracking,
overstressing
and
eventual
failure
of
the
tire
carcass.
Overinflating
tires
does
not
increase
load
carrying
capacity,
but
will
result
in
a
hard
ride
and
accelerated
tire
wear
in
the
center
of
the
contact
patch.
Check
cold
tire
pressure
frequently
with
a
good
quality
gauge
Visually
inspect
tires
for
punctures,
cuts,
abrasions,
cracks,
bulges,
blisters
or
knots.
Damage
caused
by
impacts,
penetrations
or
continued
underinflated/overloaded
use
is
progressive
and
can
result
in
sudden
and
complete
tire
failure

|
and
accident.
Always
seek
expert
inspection
of
the
dismounted
tire
following
curb,
chuckhole
or
other
impacts,
any
evidence
of
penetration
beyond
the
tire
surface,
bulges
or
low
pressure.
Do
not
continue
riding
on
such
tires.
Inspect
your
tires
frequently
for
damage
and
always
heed
warning
signs
such
as
vibration,
handling
instability,
rubbing
or
tire
noise
that
occurs
during
operation
of
the
motorcycle.
