in
Colorado
Springs
Mark

calendars

Saturday,
May
17
as
the
2nd
Annual
Pikes
Peak
Custom
and
Classic
Show
&
Shine
returns
to
Colorado
Springs.
This
annual
event
is
held
in
honor
of
Armed
Forces
Day,
and
is
presented
by
Pikes
Peak
Harley-Davidson/Buell
and
Pro
Promotions.
This
free
event
offers
the
owners
of
custom
and
antique
motorcycles
and
cars
an
opportunity
to
show
off
their
hard
work,
pride
and
joy.
“We
have
really
had
great
participation
in
this
event
from
the
community,”
said
Rob
Brooks,
President
of
Pikes
Harley-Davidson/Buell.
“We
have
a
great
number
of
entries
from
both
the
motorcycle
owners
and
the
custom
car
community,
and
the
spectator
has
been
just
awesome!”
Brooks
added,
“We
are
really
looking
forward
to
this
years
event.
It’s
one
of
our
favorites.”
New
for
2008,
is
the
addition
of
a
sport
bike
class
for
the
show.
Pikes
Peak
Motorsports,
the
local
Aprilia,
Motoguzzi
and
Hyosung
dealership
has
come
on
board
to
sponsor
the
event
and
give
the
sport
bike
owners
their
props.
“There
are
a
huge
number
of
sport
bike
enthusiasts
here
in
Southern
Colorado,
and
we
want
to
recognize
and
welcome
them
to
this
event.”
said
Paul
Tang
of
PPM.
Not
only
is
admission
to
this
event
free
of
charge,
but
there
is
no
entry
fee
to
show
your
ride
either!
Some
great
trophies
and
prizes
will
be
given
away
to
all
the
winners,
and
the
spectators
decide
whose
creation
will
get
an
award.
The
Show
&
Shine
features
food,
liquid
refreshment
and
great
music
all
day
long.
The
Rocky
Mountain
Motorcycle
Museum
volunteers
will
be
on
hand
serving
up
ice
cold
Miller
and
Coors
beer,
and
Phil’s
Pig
Out
barbecue
will
be
serving
up
the
vittles.
With
regards
to
Armed
Forces
Day:
The
Soldiers
For
Jesus
Motorcycle
Club
will
be
on
hand
collecting
badly
needed
items
for
our
troops
serving
in
Iraq
and
Afghanistan.
“Soldiers
for
Soldiers
is
a
national
effort
by
our
club
to
support
the
brave
men
and
women
who
are
defending
our
country
overseas,”
said
Jim
Peterson
of
SFJ
M/C.
“Our
donations
will
be
sent
to
the
First
ID
Combat
Aviation
Brigade”.
Peterson
added,
“These
men
and
women
are
there
for
us
everyday,
and
this
is
a
easy
and
inexpensive
way
to
say
thank
you
for
their
valiant
efforts.”
The
