The Director's Minute
Dear Chapter Members:

We are right around the corner of our trip to the HUB and the Million Mile Monday. Susie and I will be there and are ready to get on the bike and ride with you all. I know the majority of you are aware of the loss of our son David. All of your thoughts and prayers have been the greatest support you could have given and warmed the empty spot in our hearts. I cannot explain how much your support and help meant to us during this time of sorrow. We cherish each and every one of you for who you are. Susie and I are so thankful God gave David to us to Love and be a part of his life. David will always be with us.

Be safe on the road and Ride and have Fun.

Director

Assistant Director's Minute
Great turn out for this months meeting. I was a little challenged with trying to fill in for Gary and a couple of others. We had too many unfortunate things happening this month which prevented some of our officers from making the meeting. We managed to pull it off. Thanks to the members that helped me out.
We are about to get to the busy part of our calendar. This weekend is the ride to Marble Falls for a weekend of riding and having fun. We will be getting together with our sister chapter to make it even more enjoyable. I unfortunately will not be able to make the trip. Jill will take notes and try to make up for my not being with you. After the completion on this ride, we have the Million Mile ride on Monday. We will be departing at 10:00 a.m. from the dealership. We should be putting about three hundred miles on each bike. This will conclude our June events.
July will start off with an “I don’t work Monday” ride on a Sunday. We will be working our way to Fredricksburg on this trip. We had to change this ride to Sunday due to availability of an open restaurant. Seems nothing in that area is open on Monday’s. The CMA ride for Gary Allen is scheduled for the thirteenth. This ride is being put on by the CMA to support one of our chapter members. We will have another dinner ride for our July meeting. The destination is still in the works. We are trying to find a different facility that can hold our group. On Saturday, the 19th, we will have a ride to Harry S. Truman Birthplace. I hope to be leading this ride. Hope to see a lot of our chapter at this one because it is on a Saturday.
August brings the Sturgis Rally, Catch’m & Eat’m picnic and the 105th Anniversary in Milwaukee. More details will follow on these events. In the mean time, be safe and “Ride & Have Fun

Secretary's Corner

Secretary
Our June 17th meeting was held in absence of our beloved Director & Ladies of Harley Officer, Gary & Susie Cuendet. But they were in our thoughts and in our hearts. Gary & Susie have been a part of our active H.O.G. family since 2004, helping bring to you all, the Lake of the Ozarks H.O.G. Chapter. Many of us spent Tuesday with them in support while they laid their eldest son, David, to rest.
Cards of condolence may be sent/dropped off to Tony at the Lake of the Ozarks Harley-Davidson Shop, or to Jill at the Ozark Harley-Davidson dealership. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers or memorial gifts, donations be made to: David Stout Jr. Children Educational Fund This educational fund has been set up in order to help Gary & Susie’s five young grandchildren who have lost their loving father.
Due to the absence of the Director, Gary Cuendet, Tony Mellroy, Assistant Director called the meeting to order. Please continue to keep Gary and Susie in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
New members were introduced—Jim & Chris Phelps as well as Marcus Vila. Please make it a point to come up and introduce yourself to them and welcome them to our chapter.
Motion was made to accept the secretary’s report as printed in the newsletter, motion seconded and motion passed.

Treasurer
Karen DeCastro reported that we had a balance of $512.99 with deposits of $824.00, expenses of $110.88 leaving an ending balance of $1226.11. Motion was made and seconded and passed to accept the treasures report.

Safety
Bill DeCastro stepped in as the Safety Officer in Al Crawley’s absence. He wanted to remind everyone to watch out for turtles in the roads and also with all of the rain that we have had, please watch out for wash outs in the road and on the side of the road. He also wanted to let everyone know that a new way to let someone know if you are broke down on the side of the road is to tie a bandana or something around your left handlebar on your bike. This is trying to spread nation wide so that when a motorcycle is on the side of the road, you can tell whether they are broken down or just taking a break.

Activities
Activities for the next 30 days: Marble Falls June 27-29. Ride will depart LOTO H-D at 8 a.m. and ride to OH-D to meet with the Ozark Chapter, departure from the OH-D at 9 a.m.
We should arrive in Marble Falls fairly early for those who would like to take an afternoon ride. Brian Black has a ride planned for Saturday for those who would like to participate. Also note, for those who are interested, Marble Falls is in a dry county.
June 30th is the Million Mile Ride—Tony will lead this ride for the day. HOG is trying to get the membership to accumulate 1 million miles on this day. See Tony for information on how to log in and post your milage for the day-departure time from LOTO H-D at 10 a.m.
Our next ‘I Don’t Work Monday’ ride will be Sunday, July 6th leaving LOTO H-D riding to Fredericksburg.

Head Road Captain
Bill L stated that we are covered on Road Captains for the ride to Marble Falls, AR. He also said that he highly recommends going on this trip. If you have not signed up to go, please think about it. Beautiful riding and scenery and the people are great down there.
The July 6th ride to Fredericksburg will leave LOTO H-D at 10 a.m., there is about ¼ mile of gravel and there is a River Ferry to cross which is $2 per bike (will only cross once). The ride to Harry S. Truman State Park will take place on Saturday July 19th departing LOTO H-D at 10 a.m. and he is asking for volunteers for road captains as he and Tony will be working that day. Please see him or Tony if you would like to help out.

Historian
Jill asked that anyone having pics to please put them on a cd or print them and bring them to either dealership.

Photographer
Karen Price stated that she has the chapter photos and if anyone would like to see them please let her know and she will be happy to email them to you.

Assistant Director
Tony stated that the MO HOG Rally is September 5 and 6 for those interested. Early bird registration ended on 6/15 but you can still register until July 17th. Tony has forms so if you are not comfortable registering online, please contact him.
He also wanted to thank the members who participated in the Patriot Guard ride for SPC. Finley in Lebanon—the outpouring was amazing.
James Klein who is one of our members has been in a motorcycle accident and has had surgery to put pins in his legs. He lives by himself in Gravois Mills and if anyone would like to help him out please see Tony for the contact information.
Tony stated that the June 9th ride was cancelled due to the 80% chance of rain in the forecast.
There is an American Legion Poker Run on 6/21 with proceeds going to a military education fund for children whose parents have died in combat post 9/11. There will also be a Poker Run sponsored by the CMA (Christian Motorcycle Association) on July 13th for Gary Allen—more information to follow on this.
We are still thinking of a place for the July meeting. Tony will send out an email and post it on the website to let everyone know when and where.
