We will be hauling a couple of trailers containing six bikes (R1200RT, R1200ST, R1200GS, K1200LT, K1200S, and K1200R) for test ride purposes and various BMW Riders' Apparel that will be for sale during the rally. Meanwhile, BMWOR's remaining staff members will be at the dealership to offer limited services. The Service Department will be open for assistance to travelers as well as working on previously scheduled appointments.

    See you in John Day!

RIDE TO JOHN DAY: Madelyn will be coordinating a ride to John Day from the dealership. She will meet leave the dealership at 9:30am on Thursday, June 16th. Then, the group will have a meeting location at the Fred Meyer in Redmond at 12:00pm for anyone in the Bend/Redmond/Madras/La Pine area that would like to join the entourage. They will plan on departing the Redmond Fred Meyer at approximately 12:45pm.

WEST COAST RENDEZVOUS: On Saturday, June 26th, Scott and Madelyn will be in Bend at the West Coast Rendezvous. Six lucky people will join Scott and Madelyn on those bikes for a nice demo ride along the Cascade Lakes Loop. Upon return from the ride, we will plan to join the rally goers for the planned dinner event. Call 541.338.0269 to choose your demo bike.

BMWOR GEOCACHES: What is a geocache? A "geocache" is usually a waterproof container with a visitor log and a variety of trinkets, planted somewhere in the world. Traditionally, people finding the geocache will sign the visitor log, take one trinket and replace it with another trinket. The types of trinkets in the container depends on whom planted the geocache.

"GeoCaching" is a relatively new adventure sport that couples that relies on the use of GPS technology. In essence, the coordinates (X,Y,N) are provided along to participates. Then the participant uses a GPS receiver to track down the geocache location. Additionally, each geocache is rated for its difficulty level.

So what does this have to do with BMWOR? Thanks to Diane (she gets the lightbulb in July), BMWOR will be placing four geocaches within our market area, which covers Lincoln City to Coos Bay along the coast, from Philomath to Sweet Home down to Roseburg in the valley areas, and Madras to Prineville down to Diamond Lake in the high desert.

Each week in July we'll be releasing a new geocache location for participants to discover independently. BMWOR geocaches will be planted in locations accessable by all types of motorcycles (i.e. near paved roads); however, the geocache will require the participant to get off the motorcycle to discover its actual location. The final geocache location will be a meeting place for Sunday, July 31st.

If you want to learn more about geocaching in general, visit www.geocaching.com.

RIDE TO WORK: Show your support for motorcycling as a reasonable means of transportation by riding to work on Wednesday, July 20th. BMWOR will be joining HP employees at the Corvallis campus on the 20th in recognition of employees that ride motorcycles.

BMWOR's 1st ANNIVERSARY: Only Saturday, July 23rd, BMWOR will host a one year anniversary celebration at the dealership. More details will be available in the July newsletter and on our website.

NEW BMW MOTORCYCLE MODELS: Since late March, BMWOR has received the R1200RT, the R1200ST, the K1200S, and the K1200R. It is true, we have received the wonderfully naked K1200R, which gives us another opportunity to see how BMW continues to broaden its reach into the motorcycling world.

With the weather improving, so have the number of motorcycles we have sold. As such, we've made a concerted effort to keep demos of these latest models and bring new inventory on the sales floor to help our customers decide what their next BMW will be.

Demonstrators: We have a number of demonstrator models available for test rides including the K1200S, the R1200RT, the R1200ST, the R1200GS, the K1200LT, and the K1200R. To qualify for a test ride, you must present a current driver's license with motorcycle endorsement, insurance card, read and sign a waiver, and bring your own riding gear. Please call ahead to arrange for test ride.

    Forthcoming Models:

  • R1200GS HP2 ENDURO - 105 horsepower packaged into a 429 lb. motorcycle available in indigo blue metallized / alaska grey. This model is BMW's next effort in creating lightweight, powerful motorcycles that will be put to the test in off-road competition. With limited production this year, US dealers will be likely receive only one of these models. At $21.5K, this bike is made for the select few.

On the international racing scene, the HP2 Enduro is already starting to make waves. BMW's new HP2 Enduro took 3 of the first 5 positions in the Erzberg Rodeo/Enduro Race held at the end of May. Lots of info about this motorcycle and the HP Motorsports team can be found at www.bmw-motorrad.com.

  • 2006 R1150GS ADVENTURE - 2004 and 2005 saw the R1150GS Adventure sell out much more quickly than BMW anticipated. In response, BMW will be producing a limited number of the R1150GS Adventure this summer. Labeled as a 2006 model in matte white paint with a black and blue seat, only 100 units will be brought into the US. With such limited numbers, this will likely become a collector's item. Units should arrive at participating dealers (i.e. BMWOR) in September or October 2005 with an anticipated price tag of $15.75K.

Referral Rewards: If you refer someone that purchases a motorcycle from BMWOR and they disclose that you referred them to us before the close of the sale, you will be rewarded with a $50 BMWOR Gift Certificate!!

BMW Group Financial Services (BMW FS) has slimmed down its sales support to 0.9% APR for 2004 R1100S and K1200RS models, and 3.9% on 2004 K1200GT models. The R1100S and K1200RS will still come with the first 5 payments made by BMW and the K1200GT will come with the first 3 payments made by BMW. Current offer ends 08/31/05.

    BMW FS is also providing financing options starting at 7.75% for the '05 R1200GS, '05 R1200RT, '05 R1200ST, '05 K1200S, and '06 K1200R!

  • Pre-Owned Motorcycles We routinely have pre-owned motorcycles in our inventory. Some of these motorcycles are trade-ins, while others are consignment bikes. The best way to know what we have in stock is to simply visit our website. Examples of some of our current pre-owned inventory can be found along the left side of this newsletter.

  • Summer Riding Apparel: BMWOR knows that riding in hot weather can be uncomfortable and we've been bringing in great warm weather riding gear, such as BMW's new Venting Machine Suit and REV'IT!'s AirFlow Jacket and AirVent Pants. We also have FirstGear's Air Kilimanjaro Jacket, HT Air Overpants, and MeshTex 2 Jackets for both men and women riders. Furthermore, we have warm weather riding gloves and BMW's AirFlow boot to ensure that you can still ride with very protective gear even in the hotest of temperatures.

Gift Certificates: BMWOR Gift Certificates are available for the "tough to shop for" individual. Gift certificates can be made for any amount and can be used for parts & accessories purchases, riding gear, service, and motorcycle purchases.

Service Scheduling: We're at the beginning of what appears will be a very busy season for BMWOR's Service Department. While we have 3 BMW Certified Technicians, we are balancing delivery of services to existing customers, new customers, travelers, and the law enforcement community. This means, we need you to help us forecasting when you will require routine services (oil changes, planned tire replacement, 6K/12K services, and annual services). If you have any advance idea of when you will need to visit our Service Department, please call us to schedule an appointment. At this time our schedule is about two weeks out, so planning your visit will be very much appreciated!

Service Loaners: Don't forget to ask for a service loaner when you make an appointment, as availability is on a first come, first served basis.

Pick-Up & Delivery: Is your schedule so busy that you're having a tough time getting your motorcycle in for service? Perhaps we can help. BMWOR offers a pick-up and delivery service for its customers. Cost will vary depending on location and number of bikes being picked up. And we'll reduce our costs for multiple pick-ups in the same geographic vicinity.

We want your help!! We're on a quest to collect digital pictures from customers while they're traveling by motorcycle. Then, at the end of the year, we're going to have customers that visit the dealership vote on the twelve images to be placed in the "2006 BMWOR Customer Calendar". If you would like your images to be considered for the calendar, please email them to info@bmwor.com.
