Goin' Low – Perfect fit for the “inseam challenged”

Sportsters have been around for almost a half-century. Perhaps the longest production run of any motorcycle. It is the best selling Harley. In particular, it is a favorite among women. The low seat, narrow profile and easy handling make it an ideal motorcycle for riders of slighter stature.

With a increase in the number of women riders these days, Harley-Davidson decided to specialize the Sportster even more and the 883L was born.

As you can guess, L stands for Low and that's what the 883L is all about. Harley-Davidson put the seat approximately 26 inches from the pavement and moved it forward a couple of inches. They even lowered the bike's center of gravity, making it 40% easier to lift off the kickstand.
