On The Floor

Bogart's Motorsports has carefully collected a very deep selection of the Worlds Finest European motorcycles coveted by passionate riding enthusiasts.

Featured today is the very rare KTM 690 Enduro and the 499 low frame and seat Option BMW GS 1200 endorsed by the President of BMW Motorad himself.

We may be the only dealership in the World with both of these machines in stock ready for delivery. No longer does a BMW rider have to be over six feet tall to flat foot a GS 1200. We have two of these rare machines that a sub six foot rider can comfortably flat foot. Please come by and let us demonstrate just how BMW engineered this very special machine.

The Austrian KTM 690 Enduro is the World's finest four stroke Enduro with a tubular trellis space frame weighing in at only 17.6 pounds! The body work, seat, ergonomics, nearly 70 horse power in a 300 pound class machine and famous Austrian built quality makes this an unbeatable Enduro machine at a great value!

We have two each of these beautiful machines and encourage you to view them before they are gone as these are the very last pair of each we will receive this year.

The Parts Corner

Hey everybody, it’s not long until one of our best riding seasons will be here. Time to get things kicking and make sure you have the right gear for your ride. Now is the time to do just that before that special item you or that special someone you want to take on that ride needs is no longer available. New gear will be arriving just after Labor Day, so don’t wait until it’s too late. Gerbing heated gear always is the first to go when that first cool snap hits in September; also watch for the new offerings from Olympia, Tourmaster, and Cortech. Need a new intercom system for that new bike? How about a system that does much more than just let you talk? Then come in and take a look at the Autocom Kit 300. With this kit you’re sure to hear loud and clear with no static or interference.

Have you been considering a new helmet? In that case, come in and try on our wide selection of Arai helmets which are the lightest, quietest, and best ventilating helmets you can get. We also carry Shoei and Nolan helmets. Don’t forget the eye protection. The sun will be out, so make sure you have the right shades for the trip. We carry a wide selection of Crossfire glasses. Have you ever seen a pair of sunglasses that are bullet proof? Then come in and check out our test pair, complete with bullet dents in them. Don’t forget, we have the best price in town for these amazing glasses.

Have you ever been riding and been chilled to the bone? The right jacket can make all the difference between a comfortable ride and a miserable one. We have a wide selection of men’s and women’s Olympia jackets. For that special someone in your life who wants comfort and fashion, we have just what she needs. You’ll both be comfortable and stylish while touring the open road. And don’t forget, that we have the right pants to complete the outfit.

Are you tired of those fingers and toes getting cold and wet? Well, here is the solution you have been seeking. Our selection of winter gloves will not only keep your hands dry, but warm as well. Also the right socks, along with a properly fitted pair of boots will do the same for your feet. If you want maximum heat, then come check out our selection of Gerbing heated gloves and socks.

So, get in while the getting’s good and stop by and see us here at Bogart’s Motorsports before you take off on that big fall trip. Ride safe, and ride often, and we’ll be seeing ya.

The Service Writer

We want you to be safe during the fall riding season and all year round. Remember to perform regular maintenance. Seriously, it's a good idea to be a lot more thorough about maintaining your bike than you would be with a car. If you don't want to do it or don't have the time, bring it in and we'll take care of it. We also offer a pick up and delivery service for your motorcycles. Rates for this service vary by mileage. Call for details.

Here's some things that you may want to check out before hitting the road this fall:

Make sure tires are in good condition and properly inflated - don't just look at them, gauge it.

Check your brakes - fluid, cables, pads and rotors (check 'em if you've got 'em).

Engine and Transmission Oil - Keep those fluids clean and full, and keep your filters new and clean.

Leaks - Should be easy to find if your bike's been sitting for a long time, but check for unwanted fluids, wet connectors, puddles or other signs of leakage.

Cracks, dents or other frame or structural damage - once in a while do a thorough check on the complete frame and stress points to make sure there is no damage.

Chains and Drive Belts need to be checked regularly for proper tension.

There are two types of maintenance you must do on a shaft drive bike - At your rear wheel there are pinion gears where the spinning drive shaft motion is turned 90 degrees into the rear wheel motion. These gears are bathed in oil which much be changed after break in, and about every 10,000 miles thereafter, depending on the model. Also, a shaft drive bike will have splines on each end of the drive shaft, and on a large ring which transmits the power to the rear wheel. These splines must be lubricated. This is a rather tricky subject, as the lubrication requirements of splines are very different from gears or bearings.

Check all the switches - make sure ALL the lights, lamps and gauges work.

Make sure you are up to date on regular scheduled maintenance - call if you don't know the next recommended service for your particular vehicle. Also remember that lubricants, oils and grease breakdown over time and need to be changed annually and not just by mileage.

Bogart's Motorsports has the professional mechanics, proper equipment and know how to help you keep your bike reliable. Call to schedule a time to bring it in and let our service professionals take a look at your motorcycle. It's the best investment you can make to keep your motorcycle safe and reliable this fall and for a long time.
