This year the Daniel Ride fun is doubled with a new ride leaving St. Augustine and heading up scenic A1A all the way to the Morocco Shrine! The Rock-N-Ride for Daniel Kids will be on Saturday, September 6, 2008. Originally launched in 2002 as the Bike to School Motorcycle Ride, this annual Daniel fund-raiser has become one of the most anticipated yearly events of Northeast Florida motorcycle enthusiasts. This year, daniel takes the fun to a new level by extending the festivities with an afternoon concert following the bike ride. The expected 1,200 riders will be admitted to the concert for free.This year’s ride St Augustine ride begins at the Elk's Lodge and ends in the parking area of the Morocco Shrine Auditorium. The St. Johns County ride is police escorted and will begin at the Elks Lodge in St. Augustine (next to the St Augustine Amphitheatre) and end at the Morocco Shrine in time to join the post-ride party, which includes complimentary catered lunches, beverages, music and a live auction benefiting daniel's kids. All riders receive commemorative t-shirts and gift bags. The post-ride party will rock with live music from Jacksonville's Ultimate Party Band, Big Al & The Kaholics, welcoming riders upon their return and continuing throughout lunch. From Classic Rock to 80's, dance music to alternative, everyone can party with Big Al. They have opened for Hootie & the Blowfish, B-52's, Spin Doctors, Lou Gramm and Tesla and been featured at major Jacksonville events, including Official NFL Super Bowl parties, Jaguar games, the Gate River Run, and Florida/Georgia events.
