American
Harley-Davidson
dealers
have
begun
taking
orders
on
the
previously
European-only
XR1200.
U.S.
dealerships
received
notifications
from
Harley-Davidson
that
an
initial
run
of
750
XR1200
bikes
will
be
available
for
the
American
market.
Designed
by
Harley-Davidson’s
European
development
branch,
the
XR1200
was
introduced
at
the
2006
Intermot
show
in
Cologne,
Germany
and
released
in
April
2008.
Up
until
now,
however,
the
XR1200
was
a
European-exclusive
model.
The
XR1200
is
powered
by
a
modified
air-cooled
1,203cc
Evolution
V45
engine.
The
XR750-inspired
motorcycle
was
designed
for
navigating
European
roads,
but
American
consumers
started
to
wonder
if
the
XR1200
would
ever
be
available
on
this
side
of
the
Atlantic.

Harley-Davidson
has
shipped
nearly
100
flags
to
American
troops
stationed
around
the
world.
|
|
Each
Harley-Davidson
flag
bears
messages
of
encouragement
signed
by
motorcycle
enthusiasts
at
various
events
throughout
2008.
Once
a
flag
is
filled
with
messages,
it
gets
packed
and
shipped
to
troops
stationed
overseas.
Harley-Davidson
says
that
nearly
100
flags
have
been
sent
to
troops
in
such
countries
as
Afghanistan,
Iraq,
Korea,
Japan
and
Germany.
