Ride
-
50/50
Rule |
|
The
50/50
Rule
is
very
basic:
if
the
outside
temperature
is
below
50
degrees;
or
we
have
a
forecast
of
precipitation
of
50%
or
more
then
the
ride
is
cancelled.
This
will
allow
everyone
to
know
that
status
before
departing
for
the
ride.
However,
don’t
let
this
stop
you
from
riding
if
you
so
desire.

The
Director's
Minute |
Happy
New
Year,
What
a
great
turn
out
for
the
January
gathering.
It
was
great
to
see
everyone,
seems
like
forever
since
we
have
gathered.
For
those
of
you
who
rode,
my
hats
off
to
you
and
I
hope
you
had
your
mileage
registered
for
the
Chapter
Challenge.
The
Christmas
Party
and
Awards
Dinner
was
another
success.
Thanks
to
Ed
Dobson
for
MCing
the
party.
There
were
some
glitches,
but
they
have
been
identified
and
should
not
happen
again
if
we
continue
to
hold
the
event
at
the
Resort
at
Port
Arrowhead.
The
Lake
of
the
Ozarks
HOG
Chapter
will
take
the
lead
for
planning
the
2009
event
and
we
have
membership
on
the
committee.
Not
a
very
busy
time
for
those
of
us
who
enjoy
the
wind
in
our
face
(or
on
the
fairing).
The
calendar
has
been
set
for
the
year
and
there
are
many,
many
rides,
events
and
activities
for
the
members
and
guests
to
participate
in,
some
new
and
some
familiar
favorites.
Check
the
sponsor’s
website
at
www.ozarkharley-davidson.com
under
the
events
calendar
and
HOG
events.
Also
look
for
the
orange
calendars.
They
will
be
ready
by
the
next
monthly
gathering.
At
our
monthly
gathering
our
Membership
Officer
reported
that
there
are
254
members
with
15
of
those
being
new
members.
Welcome
to
all
the
new
members
and
a
big
aloha
to
all
the
rest
of
you.
For
the
new
and
old
members,
your
2009
officers
are
here
to
serve
you.
Their
contact
information
is
here
in
the
newsletter
and
on
our
sponsor’s
website
under
HOG
Officers.
Give
us
a
shout
if
you
have
any
questions,
comments
or
suggestions.
We
are
always
looking
for
ride
destinations
and
ways
to
make
the
chapter
even
better
than
it
is.
Do
you
have
a
favorite
you
would
like
to
share
with
us?
This
may
disturb
and
disappoint
a
few
of
you,
but
I
am
going
to
make
my
articles
shorter
to
allow
for
more
room
for
information,
calendar
stuff
and
articles
from
the
officers.
So
till
next
time,
keep
it
between
the
white
lines.
Our
next
gathering
is
on
February
15th
at
T’s
Redneck
Steakhouse,
Lebanon
at
11
am.
There’s
no
planned
ride.

From
Your
Assistant
Director |
Hello
everyone,
What
a
great
turnout
for
our
first
gathering
of
the
year!
Some
rode,
although
the
ride
after
was
cancelled
due
to
temperature.
Welcome
to
all
the
new
members,
and
the
other
members
as
well!
If
you
didn't
make
this
meeting
I
hope
to
see
you
at
the
Feb.15th
gathering.
Although
it
may
seem
early
to
plan
for
the
Missouri
State
HOG
Rally
in
Sept.2009,
you
need
to
make
hotel
reservations
soon
to
stay
at
the
host
hotel
which
is
Embassy
Suites.
If
you
want
to
stay
elsewhere
there
are
plenty
of
hotels
available.
I
have
a
list
of
them
if
needed.
If
your
thinking
about
Club
HOG
in
Oklahoma
City
Ok.
you
need
to
make
hotel
reservations
soon.
Two
of
the
nearest
hotels
to
rally
are
already
sold
out.
I
also
have
a
list
of
hotels
in
the
area
of
the
rally
site.
Preregistration
for
either
rally
is
not
yet
open.
If
you
plan
on
attending
any
state
or
national
event,
consider
doing
the
ABCs
of
touring.
This
is
a
good
way
to
get
more
points.
Visit
members.hog.com
to
get
a
form
to
participate.
I
will
also
have
some
with
me.
If
you
haven't
done
this
before,
it
can
be
a
lot
of
fun.
It
is
also
a
good
way
to
show
where
you
have
been.
All
photos
are
returned
after
points
are
tallied.
Don't
think
about
it
do
it!
Will
be
looking
for
you
out
riding
between
gatherings.
Stay
safe!

adversely
effect
your

the
limbs
affecting
your
ability
to
react
quickly
in
critical
situations.
Dress
warm,
