Fall
Tech
Tip Spokane
County
requires
oxygenated
fuel
(Ethynol)
at
the
pumps
starting
October
1st
(10/1/2005).
Fuel
Injected
bikes,
which
naturally
run
lean,
can
experience
some
minor
hiccups
from
this
because
it
is
a
leaner
burning
fuel.
This
is
a
normal
occurance
when
using
this
fuel
and
it
is
common
to
notice
a
slight
increase
in
surging
and
the
occasional
lean
miss
or
hiccup.
This
will
not
adversly
effect
your
bike. Some
simple
ways
to
combat
this
include;
keeping
the
RPMs
up.
The
EFI
system
runs
richer
above
3000
RPMs.
Use
a
little
more
throttle
when
starting
off
from
a
stop
or
when
turning
a
slow
corner.
If
popping
on
deceleration
increases,
use
more
brake
before
downshifting.
Or,
though
possibly
inconveinent,
buy
your
gas
outside
of
Spokane
County. Adding
a
Screamin'
Eagle
Race
Fueler
from
Harley-Davidson
can
be
a
big
help
by
allowing
small
adjustments
to
the
EFI
system
that
will
minimize
or
erase
these
potential
issues. Feel
free
to

Dept.

the
