Chapter
Ride
-
50/50
Rule |
|
The
50/50
Rule
is
very
basic:
if
the
outside
temperature
is
below
50
degrees;
or
we
have
a
forecast
of
precipitation
of
50%
or
more
then
the
ride
is
cancelled.
This
will
allow
everyone
to
know
that
status
before
departing
for
the
ride.
However,
don’t
let
this
stop
you
from
riding
if
you
so
desire.

The
Director's
Minute |
Aloha
Friends,
I
heard
the
gathering
at
T’s
Redneck
Steakhouse
was
great,
sorry
I
missed
it.
I
want
to
mention
a
few
things,
so
here
we
go.
In
my
humble
opinion
what
makes
this
chapter
so
great
is
its
members.
You
always
seem
to
step
up
when
an
event,
ride
or
activity
needs
a
volunteer,
many
of
you
volunteer
at
the
State
Rally,
and
we
have
seen
a
noticeable
increase
in
the
volunteer
Road
Captains.
This
is
essential
to
our
ability
to
provide
the
service
of
Riding
and
Having
Fun.
Thanks
to
all
of
you!
Another
thing
that
makes
this
chapter
so
great
is
our
sponsors.
We
could
not
ask
for
better
people
than
Jack,
Debi
and
Missy.
They
make
this
so
easy
for
the
officers
to
serve
the
members.
Thanks
to
you
too.
Boy,
the
weather
has
played
a
few
tricks
on
us
lately.
Makes
me
think
Spring
is
closer
than
it
is.
But
never
fear,
Spring
is
right
around
the
corner
and
that
means
putting
the
two
wheels
in
motion
and
relieving
all
the
winter
stress
with
a
nice
long
ride
in
the
saddle
of
our
H-D
motorcycle.
There
are
plenty
of
rides
scheduled
for
the
chapter
as
well
as
other
riding
opportunities
around
the
Ozarks.
Check
the
calendar
and
I
hope
to
see
you
there.
One
of
those
rides
is
the
2nd
Annual
Spring
into
Riding
Run.
Come
on
out,
check
your
bike
out
and
let’s
start
the
riding
season
out
right.
All
this
happens
on
4
April
at
11
am.
Hope
to
see
ya
there.
Be
sure
to
check
the
sponsor’s
website
at
www.ozarkharley-davidson.com
under
the
events
calendar
and
HOG
events
for
all
the
scheduled
activities
and
rides.
The
chapter
calendars
are
available
at
the
dealership
and
the
monthly
gatherings.
Put
it
up
on
your
refrigerator
so
you
won’t
miss
a
thing.
A
couple
of
other
things
and
I
will
let
you
get
to
the
rest
of
the
newsletter.
The
first
is,
if
you
haven’t
been
on
the
members
only
website,
you
are
missing
some
great
stuff.
There
will
be
a
new
H.O.G
magazine.
You
may
have
even
received
it
by
now.
It
will
combine
the
Enthusiast
and
H.O.G.
Tales.
Look
for
it
soon.
The
other
is
the
H.O.G
merchandise
that
is
available
on
the
website.
Check
it
out
for
all
the
cool
stuff
you
can
get
to
show
your
H.O.G.
pride.
The
last
thing
(I
heard
the
sigh
of
relief)
is
Club
H.O.G.
26,
OKC.
It
will
be
June
26-27
in
Oklahoma
City,
OK.
Registration
opened
on
Feb
4.
There
are
already
some
members
I
know
are
going
and
have
made
their
reservations.
I
have
one
room
available
at
$89/night
with
two
queen
beds.
If
you
want
it
contact
me.
First
come
first
served.
Our
next
gathering
is
on
March
15th
at
the
pavilion
behind
Ozark
Harley-Davidson
11am.
There
is
a
scheduled
ride
to
Ha
Ha
Tonka
State
Park.

Assistant
Director's
Minute |
We
had
a
good
turnout
for
our
February
meeting
with
several
members
riding
despite
the
cool
temperatures.
If
you
were
not
there
you
missed
seeing
last
years
scrapbook—it
is
now
at
the
dealership.
Take
a
look
at
it,
you
might
be
in
it.
Last
months
newsletter
stated
that
rooms
were
sold
out
at
the
Embassy
Suites
which
is
the
host
hotel
for
the
MO
State
HOG
Rally.
There
are
rooms
still
available
but
they
are
filling
up
fast.
The
rally
web
site
is
not
open
for
registration
as
of
yet
but
I
will
let
you
know
as
soon
as
I
do.
This
year’s
registration
fee
is
$25
because
t-shirts,
patches,
hats,
and
pins
are
all
available
ala-carte.
You
will
need
to
order
this
merchandise
when
you
pre-register
otherwise
there
may
not
be
anything
available
at
the
rally.
Registration
for
the
National
Rally,
which
is
Club
HOG
OKC,
opened
February
4,
2009.
You
can
preregister
online
at
members.hog.com.
There
is
not
a
host
hotel
for
this
event
but
I
have
a
list
of
nearby
hotels.
If
you
have
never
been
to
a
National
Rally
consider
going
to
this
one.
Oklahoma
City
is
not
that
far
and
the
weather
should
be
good
(June
26-27).
There
will
be
a
lot
going
on
including
vendors,
entertainment,
a
street
party
in
Old
Bricktown
and
of
course
some
good
riding.
If
you
don’t
wish
to
ride
alone
there
are
others
that
are
going
that
you
can
ride
with.
If
you
have
not
signed
up
for
the
H.O.G
Mileage
Program,
now
is
the
time
to
do
it.
The
award
levels
now
start
at
1,000
miles
and
increase
from
there.
A
pin
and
a
patch
is
given
for
each
level.
You
can
download
the
form
from
the
H.O.G.
website
or
you
can
call
or
email
me
to
get
one
before
the
next
meeting.
