Letter From Gary
Our family’s passion about motorcycling, along with having a business in that industry makes for a fulfilling life. I am reminded daily of this as our customers live out their dreams. From my transition working for Suzuki and Pro Racing to running Cycle City of Erie in 1985 I have added to my family with a great team who share our family’s passion.

As we tumble into 2009 under the these uncertain economic times I know you, like most of the world, are a bit unsure of what’s to come in the short term. One thing about living the dream is remaining optimistic about our future, and for many of us that future will include the joy and camaraderie we experience as motorcyclists. Cycle City remains committed to you, to motorcycles both on and off road, and to the art of motorcycling here in the Great Lakes.

I am particularly pleased to tell you that during the 2009 Suzuki National Dealers meeting, Cycle City was recognized for having one of the highest customer service ratings. In 24 years of representing Suzuki, we’ve taken home this award on more than 12 occasions – This parallels our Kawasaki Ichiban awards for 16 out of 24 years, this award is for more than just selling the most units it is how you operate your entire dealership. Thanks to our committed staff, to our enthusiast customers, and to Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda, who build motorcycles that, inspire passion.

Our family appreciates everyone who passed the halls of our old store and for all those who have ventured into our new store over the past 8 months. Whether you bought a Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki, a pre-owned machine, a helmet, or an oil filter, used our service department . . . or just stopped by to talk at a Bike Night or join us on a Ride N Dine Club outing.

20 some days to spring and 2009 brings some great dreams to live out with all new models from Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki. During 2009 we will be providing many in-store and online seminars and events, including web videos on maintenance and speakers on, for instance, mistakes to avoid in your next purchase, new changes in insurance, and the grand opening of our PA Motorcycle Safety Course. We want Cycle City of Erie to be your regular destination so E-mail me or call (814-864-BIKE) me with ideas for what you would like to see.

Best Regards, Gary Pustelak

MARK YOUR CALENDAR
Erie Sportsman Show - March 5th – 8th

Mike Crotty Memorial Event – June 27th

First Ride N Dine Club Ride – April 1st

New series of bike nights at Cycle City (not your normal boring events, plan on skills competition, live music, hole shot contest and more for the entire family)

Coming into spring is a two way street, those with snowmobiles need to make sure they cover the bases on storing their machine for the summer and those bringing the street bikes out need to pay careful attention to a half dozen or more critical areas before hitting the open road. These are elementary things that could save your life.

1.) Check the quality of the fuel in your tank

2.) Check the quantity and quality of you oil

3.) Is the battery properly charged and connected right?

4.) Any leaks? Check brake, clutch and coolant levels.

5.) Proper tire wear and tread depth left, also check pressure

6.) Prepare yourself, start out slow to get the feeling of being in the saddle back then go enjoy the longer rides.

7.) Beat the crowd on all of the above and ask about Cycle City’s earlier bird re-commission rates or check into our Priority Maintenance Program which covers all of the above plus several other benefits.
