Members:
It’s
hard
to
believe
that
it
is
time
to
write
the
second
H.O.G.
newsletter
for
2009!
Let’s
hope
the
rapid
pace
of
this
year
allows
an
even
more
rapid
transition
through
the
changes
of
our
New
Administration
and
return
to
a
more
suitable
economy.
Remember
that
riding
is
always
good
therapy!
I
need
to
send
out
another
reminder
for
Volunteers
for
the
events
suggested
at
our
Planning
Meeting
late
last
year.
I
have
received
support
for
food
preparation
for
the
monthly
Membership
Meetings
however
I
do
not
have
any
Volunteers
for
the
other
suggested
events.
We
are
at
risk
of
not
having
these
events
without
Volunteers.
Please
lend
some
volunteer
time
to
your
local
H.O.G.
Chapter.
We
will
resume
New
Member
Orientation
on
the
last
Saturday
of
each
month.
Orientation
will
begin
at
10:00
a.m.
and
last
approximately
1.5
hours.
There
will
be
a
short
ride
to
follow
the
orientation.
I
have
been
asked
questions
by
H.O.G.
members
concerning
some
of
the
changes
for
2009
and
offer
the
following
answers
to
your
FAQ’s.
I
will
post
future
responses
to
questions
as
required
to
provide
communication
to
all
H.O.G.
members.
Q.
Are
membership
dues
being
charged
for
2009?
A.
Yes.
Annual
membership
dues
for
the
local
chapter
are
$15.00.
National
membership
is
required
for
local
membership.
Once
your
national
membership
lapses,
local
membership
is
no
longer
valid.
Please
renew
your
national
membership
in
a
timely
manner.
We
will
discuss
annual
dues
at
our
Board
of
Directors
meeting
and
consider
aligning
annual
dues
with
the
calendar
year
and
filing
of
the
Chapter
Charter
Application.
This
will
allow
a
fair
method
of
prorating
dues
if
membership
begins
during
the
year.
Q.
Is
the
Participation
Patch
program
active
in
2009?
A.
The
Board
of
Directors
has
decided
to
suspend
the
Participation
Patch
program
to
evaluate
other
participation
programs.
We
will
be
sending
5
of
our
Chapter
Officers
to
Primary
Officer
Training
in
Orlando,
Florida
May
1-2,
2009.
These
officers
will
receive
training
in
several
areas
to
include
rider
experiences,
events
and
chapter
volunteering.
We
look
forward
to
hearing
about
their
training
this
summer.
We
would
like
to
welcome
Jeff
Becker
as
the
newest
Chapter
Officer.
Jeff
will
be
the
new
membership
Officer
in
addition
to
his
duties
as
Road
Captain
for
the
chapter.
Thanks
again
for
supporting
the
local
Waco
HOG
Chapter
and
we
look
forward
to
working
with
the
new
volunteers
for
our
2009
events.
