What
is
a
Harley-Davidson |
To
me
the
fusion
of
art
&
engineering
into
something
as
special
as
a
Harley
motorcycle
combined
with
marked
improvements
in
basic
frame,
suspension,
engine
mounting,
brakes,
ignition,
fuel
mixture
delivery,
drive,
etc.,
etc.,
through
the
years
is
asolutely
fantastic.
Each
bike
is
a
solid
treasue
with
solid
pedigree,
And
each
one
is
delivered
with
such
wonderful
colors,
leathers
and
custome
features.
I'll
just
bet
that
Harley-Davidson
could,
if
they
wanted
to,
build
bike
after
bike
year
after
year
&
no
two
would
be
alike.
But
each
one
would
all
be
a
solid,
excellent
Harley-Davidson
motorcycle.
Any
rider
can
find
that
one
motorcycle
that
just
fits
with
a
Harley.
It
is
my
privilege
to
visit
them
at
St
Joe
Harley-Davidson
where
folks
not
only
appreciate
Harley's,
but
they
thoroughly
know
them.
Whatever
parts
ro
merchandise
St.
Joe
H-D
sells,
the
people
there
thoroughly
appreciate,
understand
and
know
those
goods.
I
truly
value
the
cordiality
of
the
trained
and
knowledgeable
men
and
women
at
St.
Joe
Harley-Davidson.

PROFILE
SPOTLIGHT
|
| MISSY
KELLEY |
My
riding
experience
started
about
3
years
ago
when
my
husband
purchased
a
Dyna
Low-Rider.
I
played
the
passenger
role
for
sometime
before
deciding
that
I
to
wanted
a
bike.(Note:
Never
having
rode
one...Ever!!)
Out
of
the
blue,
I
purchased
a
Fat
Bob
(based
on
looks.)
I
wasn't
informed
that
you
need
to
feel
comfortable
on
the
bike
&
that
your
legs
should
touch
the
ground.
Therefore
making
several
adjustments
to
this
Fat
Bob,
I
thought
I
was
ready
to
learn.
After
a
hundred
attempts
(I'm
not
exaggerating),
75
miles
later,
multiple
crying
episodes
&
more
time
on
the
ground
than
upright,
I
gave
up
and
figured
that
maybe
riding
wasn't
for
me.
My
husband
understanding
my
limitations
&
seeing
my
struggles
mentioned
that
maybe
this
wasn't
the
bike
for
me.
So
we
went
bike
shopping
again.....
I
found
a
dealer
that
would
listened
to
my
concerns
based
on
physical
attributes
&
sat
me
on
a
1200
Custom
Sporty.
I
felt
comfortable,
my
feet
touched
the
ground,
&
I
could
handle
the
weight
easily.
(
With
some
minor
adjustments.)
Because
I
was
still
scared
to
death
about
riding
even
thought
I
felt
I
had
the
right
bike.
My
husband
enrolled
us
both
into
the
Motorcycle
Saftey
course.
Even
though
he
was
a
veteran
rider,
he
learned
many
things
during
this
course
&
it
was
the
'icing
on
the
cake'
for
me.

| MISSY'S
STORY
CONTINUED: |
|
Now
after
5K
Miles
&
1
year
on
my
Sporty
I
feel
I'm
readyto
move
up
to
the
big
twin
family.
My
2009
Fat
Boy
is
on
order
&
should
be
here
any
day.
And
yes,
your
math
is
correct
...3
bikes
in
3
years..
I'm
reminded
daily
by
my
husband.
In
a
nutshell,
this
is
what
I've
learned:
1.
Find
the
right
bike
for
you.
Go
with
your
gut.
2.
Make
your
riding
experience
unique.
(whether
its
bike
accessories
or
attire.
3.
Acquiring
a
new
network
of
friends
that
pass
NO
judgement.
4.
Find
a
dealer
that
makes
you
feel
at
home
(rarely
does
a
week
go
by
that
I
don't
stop
&
chat
with
my
friends...
of
course
I
have
to
check
out
the
'eye
candy'
too.)
5.
Enroll
in
a
Motorcycle
Safety
Course
(
It
could
save
your
life.)
6.
Wish
daily
that
the
boss
gives
you
the
day
off,
no
rain,
&
70
degree
weather.
7.
DON'T
GIVE
UP.
(
If
I
can
do
it,
anyone
can.) |
