Dave Lehr is now our new local R.A.T. Pack Leader, having accepted the passing of the banner from Ludwig back in March at the “changing of the guard” party at his place, Detour Cycles. Dave will soon be sending out an email blast to announce the Tuesday night dinner rides starting the end of May.

BIKES RIDE TO THE BLUES

The State Theatre Blues Series, sponsored by Life Cycle, has been attracting many of our local motorcyclists to the famous venue for evenings of excellent entertainment by nationally known performers. We’ll be back at the State Theatre in full force this Friday evening, April 10th, and also for the final gig Friday, April 24th, but this time with spring weather backing our saddles, as we ride our bikes for a friendly mob style take over of Burdick Street in front of the theatre . Let’s give the managers the bike show they’ve been asking for!
(In return for all the free tickets.)

LAKESHORE BLESSING

14TH ANNUAL GILMORE VINTAGE MOTORCYCLE SHOW

Try not to miss one of the best motorcycle events in West Michigan! Sunday, June 14th, hundreds of fascinating bikes will be on display at this beautiful venue. Of course, Life Cycle will be there with our new bikes (hopefully a T bird!), and offering demo rides on select models.

This year's eighteenth commuting demonstration event, to be held on Monday June 15th, is expected to double the number of riders on the road, according to Ride to Work, a non-profit advocacy organization.

According to the United States Census Bureau and the Department of Transportation, over eighty million cars and light trucks are used for daily commuting on American roads, and about 200,000 motorcycles and scooters are a regular part of this mix. On Ride To Work Day, the practical side of riding becomes more visible as a larger number of America's 8,000,000 cycles and scooters are ridden to work.

"Riding to work on this day shows the positive value of motorcycles and scooters for transportation. For several hundred thousand commuters, riding is an economical, efficient and socially responsible form of mobility that saves energy, helps the environment and provides a broad range of other public benefits," states Andy Goldfine, the event organizer. Motorcycle and scooter clubs and organizations in many countries encourage their members to ride to work on this day.

Ride to Work Day shows how riding makes parking easier and help traffic flow better. Motorcycles and scooters consume less resources per mile than automobiles, and they take up less space in parking areas and on roads. Riders seek employer support for this form of transportation, and increased government and public awareness about riding's many benefits.

SPEED TV’S PINKS ALL OUT SERIES COMING TO
US 131 MOTORSPORTS PARK JULY 11, 2009

The country’s most talked-about grassroots racing experience and hit television show, Speed TV’s Pinks All Out Series, is coming to US 131 Motorsports Park with the promise of big time money for big time performance.

Pinks All Out is the highest rated original series on SPEED with more than 2.5 million viewers tuning in each week. “We are honored to be chosen by SPEED to host the very popular PINKS All Out television show,” stated Jason Peterson General Manager of US 131 Motorsports Park. Peterson continued, “We look for this to be our biggest draw for the 2009 season where folks will come from all over the Midwest including Chicago and Detroit. We can’t wait to work with Rich Christensen and his staff.”

Limited to the first 400 entrants who registered at www.us131msp.com on December 1st at 8 am, the Pinks All Out series will put 16 racers on national cable TV and pay one of them $10,000 in cash

Racing starts on Saturday, July 11 at 8 am. Rich Christensen and the Pinks team then will select 16 drivers to participate in final eliminations. Those selected then will compete as if they were in a typical drag race with first round winners earning $1,000 and a shot at the big money.

In addition to the Pinks All Out competition, the Saturday show will include a host of professional and exhibition cars and a jet-powered vehicle. The fun will begin Friday, July 10 at 8 am with a test-and-tune session offering unlimited time trials to the 400 racers pre-registered for the Pinks All Out event. Friday’s cost for racers is included in the $60 registration fee.

Adult spectator admission is just $15 for Friday’s test-and-tune, $20 for Saturday’s big event or $30 for a two day pass. Reserved seating can also be purchased for an additional $5-$10 per person. Children ages 12 and under are admitted free. Each pass includes free parking and pit passes. For more information please visit www.us131msp.com.
