Ozark Mountain Chapter Of Lebanon #2575
May 2009 Newsletter

The Director's Minute
Hey There Ya’ll,
Not a lot to report on this month, so this will be short.
We have had some really good riding weather of late. A little windy but that has not stopped us. The Spring into Riding Run had a great turnout. With the riders from the Lake Chapter there was better than 25 bikes that made the trip to Waynesville for lunch via the back roads. Thanks to Mark Post for setting all that up.
I am pleased to announce the return of dinner rides. Our first one will be on May 6th leaving the dealership at 6:15 pm for the ride to Ollie’s Sandwich & Ice Cream Shoppe in Lebanon. Mark tells me this is rain or shine, so even if we have to take the cages we can still enjoy each others company. Check the calendar and the website for future dinner rides.
Although the weather held out for our Spring Poker Run, the attendance was not what we would expect. Only about 34 riders and passengers attended. We put this on for the members and it takes some work from the volunteers, so if we don’t have much participation then it is more work than it is worth. We welcome any suggestions on how to make this event more enjoyable for all that attend. Thanks to all that attended, congrats to all the winners and a special thanks to all the volunteers.
I have mentioned it before but I will mention it again. Club H.O.G. 26 is being held in Oklahoma City, OK 26-27 Jun. Pre-registration has been open since Feb 4. As of right now there is a departure group leaving Waynesville at 8 am on the 25th and picking up folks in Lebanon at 8:30 am. If you are going, please let me know. We can ride together, we can hang out while we are there and there definitely will be a chance to get all the chapter members together for a group photo. Still nothing back from the Visitors Bureau, but I will let you know if I hear anything.
The rooms I have for the Missouri State H.O.G. Rally are still available; let me know if you would like one of them.
The latest name badge order has 8 members on it. We need to get to 12 to place the order, so if you want one, contact me and get on the list. I seem to have gone longer than expected ( I heard that!) so I better close with this, Ride Safe and Often.
Our next gathering is on May 17th at the pavilion behind Ozark Harley-Davidson at 11am. There is a scheduled ride to Montauk State Park. Come out and enjoy each others company and some good food.

May the Force Be With You,
Yoda

From Your Assistant Director
Greetings to all!
If you are going to any surrounding state HOG Rally, pre-registration has closed for Nebraska, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kansas, Kentucky and Illinois. Our Missouri State Rally site is now taking registrations. You will need to pre-register to get t-shirts, patches, pins, etc. There will be little if any merchandise available at the rally. The Missouri State H.O.G. Rally website is ready to accept pre-registrations and volunteers. Please visit www.mostatehogrally.com
Going to Club HOG OKC? Registration is now open. To enter the bike show or Wall of Ink tattoo contest you have to pre-register and have your entry forms in by May 18th. You can get entry forms from the HOG website or I have some. I have a list of hotels if needed as well. Contact a chapter officer if you would like to ride with a group.
HOG’s American Muscle Tour is July 14-19th and is taking registrations now. The ride is from Bowling Green, KY to Milwaukee, WI.
May 1st is the 3rd annual International Female Riders Day. This kicks off Women Riders Month. Women from around the world are encouraged to ride whether it is for a few minutes or for a few hours on the first Friday of May each year.

Enough said!! Let’s Ride.
Bill DeCastro, Asst. Director

A Note From Our Sponsor
Every local H.O.G. member needs their own H.O.G. 'rewards' card. If two members share the same dealership account, one member will use the Dealership rewards number as his/her H.O.G. rewards card as well as their dealership rewards card. The other member will use a separate H.O.G. rewards card. The second H.O.G. rewards will have nothing to do with dealership rewards.

For example - John Rambo's card # will be in the dealership computer for Mr. & Mrs. Rambo to use to earn dealership rewards. John will use this as his H.O.G. rewards card. Jane will have a separate card as her H.O.G. rewards card.

The cards that are H.O.G. rewards only will have a H.O.G. punched as a reminder that this is a H.O.G. only rewards card. We will also put that number under the comments section in the dealership computer system.

What is a H.O.G. Rewards Card?
We are issuing H.O.G. rewards cards so we can eventually use them to track attendance to meetings, events, etc. We may eventually discontinue use of the old paper local membership cards.

Any questions, please contact Jenna or Melissa at the dealership.
