2010 Honda CRF250R Revealed!
Now with fuel injection
CRF250R Honda has revealed the newest addition to their arsenal of reliable and performance driven motocross bikes. The 2010 CRF250R, now gets fuel-injection as well as a list of other adjustments, to make an already good MX bike even better.

New for 2010
The new Honda is significantly updated from the '09. Some of the more notable changes include a longer-stroke motor, fuel-injection, a single-muffler exhaust system, a new frame, a new head, CRF450R body work, and larger Showa forks, which are now 49mm instead of 48mm. The rear shock now has a KYB-like "shorty" reservoir, similar to the 450, which is fitted with KYB suspension components front and back.
Backside Honda In particular has emphasized several key points to the new design which are sure to make a big difference.

Batteryless Fuel Injection Other fuel injection systems are heavy compared with the CRF250R's, which is light and compact – call it fuel injection done right.

All-new Programmed Fuel Injection system (PGM-FI) utilizes a 50mm throttle body with 12-hole injector fed by lightweight 50-psi pump to ensure optimum fuel atomization and precisely targeted fuel charge. System also improves fuel consumption. The PGM-FI system monitors throttle position, intake air and coolant temperatures and
manifold pressure to accurately map fuel charge and ignition spark, significantly improving partial-throttle response and helping to ensure excellent rideability. Another well appreciated adjustment is the enlarged AC generator to service the PGM-FI system. Two crankshaft position sensors quickly determine crank position to provide quick starts, hot or cold.

New Unicam Engine The Liquid-cooled four-valve Unicam® 249cc engine has been completely redesigned for improved power delivery from a significantly more compact package that lowers the center of gravity and enhances mass centralization for improved handling. In addition Honda has added a new forged slipper-piston material that permits a thinner crown. This Low-friction surface treatment ensures high-rev potential.

Chassis/Suspension

• All-new HPSD-equipped Twin-Spar Aluminum Frame with forged-aluminum
Rideon
steering head. Spar height was reduced (70mm to 66mm) and width was narrowed (27mm to 26mm). Stronger down-tubes improve front-end feel.

• Steering response and overall handling were improved by positioning the front wheel 15mm farther back and closer to the crankshaft.

• HPSD features a compact damper attached to the lower triple clamp and the steering head to allow more aggressive steering characteristics and assist straight-line handling. Damping action smoothly progresses as handlebar deflection increases, which produces very natural steering characteristics and feel.

• Pro-Link Rear Suspension features exclusive Showa integrated reservoir with all-new damping and spring settings. These big changes AND MANY MORE not mentioned in this article are sure to make a big difference For additional information about specifications and addition/improvements, visit Honda's website www.Honda.com Or check out this review by Cyclenews www.CycleNews.com

2009 CBR600RR & CBR1000RR
New Braking System
CBR1000 As you probably already know, the new 2009 CBR600RR and 2009 CBR1000RR are now available with combined ABS (anti-lock) brake system) But what does ABS bring to the superbike world?
In simple terms, the Combined ABS Control system monitors the front and rear brakes, receiving input from the brake master cylinders and speed sensors on both wheels. This information is then sent to the system's power units which in turn, adjust the fluid pressure and the brake calipers.

Simultaneously, the combined ABS monitors wheel slippage and hydraulic pressure. In the case that the ABS function is needed, the power units that apply braking force will modulate the pressure to prevent wheel lock-up.

How To Load Your Motorcycle
Be careful when loading your bike for a big trip
By:Motorcycle.com
Luggage Motorcycles can be a great way to commute, transport smaller stuff from point A to B, or travel, sight see and tour.

Depending on how much you carry, however, added weight can affect wear and tear on the whole bike, including suspension, tires, drive train, and brakes. It can also affect how well you can brake, corner, and of course, accelerate.
The more you pile on, the more you need to pay attention to where you place heavier items, how you attach them, and what the added ballast placed in various spots on your bike does to handling and control."
