WARM
WEATHER
RIDING
TIPS
Don't
forget
that
once
the
temperature
gets
above
your
body
temperature
(~99F),
you
don't
want
to
be
wearing
a
mesh
jacket.
You
want
to
zip
up
all
of
your
vents
and
keep
as
much
of
your
skin
covered
as
possible.
Hot
air
hitting
your
skin
at
a
temperature
higher
than
your
body
temperature
will
heat
up
your
skin
and
dehydrate
you
faster
than
you'll
know
it's
happening.
Cover
your
neck
with
a
soaking
wet
bandana,
wet
down
your
T-shirt,
and
stop
often
to
re-soak
both.
Drink
way
more
water
than
you
think
you'll
need.
Consider
purchasing
a
"hydration
vest"
for
hot
weather
riding,
as
this
will
also
be
very
beneficial
to
you.

"SLACKER
SQUAD" |
Are
you
a
"SLACKER"?
Do
you
work
a
"weird"
shift?
Are
you
self
employed?
Do
you
have
a
flexible
schedule?
Maybe
you've
"served"
your
time
-
Retired.
Then
you
just
might
be
a

Ride
to
the
Pony
Express
Museum |
|
The
day
started
out
rainy
and
dreary,
but
it
did
not
damper
the
spirits
of
the
nine
people
heading
to
St
Joe.
Rain
suits
were
necessary
attire
to
arrive
at
Children's
Fountain.
When
kickstands
went
up,
rain
suits
were
not
needed
anymore.
A
leisurely
ride
through
the
rural
countryside
was
enjoyed
by
all.
Upon
arrival
at
the
Museum,
we
watched
a
short
video
on
the
history
of
the
Pony
Express.
The
Museum
is
housed
in
part
of
the
original
stables.
Due
to
time
restraints
and
hunger
gnawing
at
our
stomachs,
we
decided
to
forego
the
Patee
House
and
go
for
lunch.
We
had
an
enjoyable
lunch
at
San
Jose
Steakhouse
in
St.
Joe.
The
sun
parted
the
clouds
as
we
headed
for
home.

our
big
two
parties
every
year,
but
for
two
years
in
the
90's
we
had
a
third
party.
We
had
the
idea
that
since
the
Halloween
Party
was
in
the
fall,
and
the
Christmas
Party
in
the
winter,
we
needed
a
Frost
Buster
in
the
spring
to
get
everyone
back
together
right
at
the
start
of
riding
season.
The
party
had
a
1950's
theme,
and
was
a
huge
success...the
first
year.
By
the
second
year
attendance
dropped
way
off,
and
well
you've
seen
how
many
we've
had
since
then.
The
idea
behind
the
event
was
great,
but
in
the
end
(even
though
they
were
in
three
separate
seasons)
the
parties
were
really
all
just
a
couple
months
apart
from
each
other.
I
think
people
got
a
little
partied
out.
I
brought
this
story
up,
not
to
be
negative
and
point
out
something
that
wasn't
massively
successful,
but
to
encourage
people
to
try
out
new
ideas
when
they
have
them.
Officers
and
non-officers
alike
can
all
come
up
with
good
ideas,
and
sometimes
I
get
the
feeling
people
don't
put
their
ideas
out
there
for
fear
that
no
one
will
show
up.
Well,
I
say
to
heck
with
that.
If
you
think
it
would
be
fun,
there
is
a
good
chance
someone
else
will
too.
You
don't
have
to
have
200
people
to
have
a
successful
event.
You
have
to
have
one.
If
one
person
has
fun,
then
we
have
a
success
on
our
hands.
A
fun
time
for
that
one
person
turns
into
a
good
memory,
and
that
is
one
of
the
best
things
you
can
take
away
from
your
chapter.
It's
been
a
decade
since
we
had
a
Frost
Buster,
and
even
though
the
last
one
had
poor
attendance
I
was
there.
And
I
had
fun.
And
here
I
am
10
years
later
telling
you
about
it.
See
you
on
the
road,
Chad
