do
I
need
to
winterize
my
PWC,
it
stays
in
a
heated
garage?” |

First
and
foremost,
winterization
is
a
bad
term
because
it
is
associated
with
freezing
and
only
freezing.
But
protection
from
freezing
is
only
one
of
three
primary
problems
that
can
occur
during
the
non-use
or
storage
period.
The
others
are
Corrosion
of
the
motor,
both
internally
and
externally;
as
well
as
corrosion
of
cables,
electrical
components
and
important
pivot
points.
The
last
is
fuel
system
contamination.
When
fuel
sits
up
for
long
periods
of
time
it
can
break
down
and
cause
gumming
or
varnishing
to
clog
up
fuel
passages;
and
since
some
fuel
passages
are
the
size
of
a
sewing
needle
it
doesn't
take
much.
