Seasons
are
changing!
The
leafs
are
turning
colors,
days
are
shorter,
and
the
nights
are
getting
cooler.
What
does
this
mean
to
you?
Time
to
bundle
up,
get
out,
and
ride!
Do
not
be
detoured
by
a
thermometer.
There
is
a
vast
amount
of
winter
gear
out
there
that
is
not
only
keeps
you
warm,
but
doesn't
make
you
look
like
you
should
be
on
a
snowmobile.
In
this
month's
newsletter
I
would
like
to
talk
about
how
to
keep
your
riding
experience
a
positive
one,
even
with
the
cooler
temperatures.
As
always,
I
recommend
wearing
all
of
the
gear,
all
of
the
time.
In
winter
you
will
be
less
detoured
by
the
heat
and
will
be
more
willing
to
follow
this
recommendation.
Truly,
any
full-face
helmet
will
do
for
winter
duty,
but
there
are
bonus
parts
some
include.
An
example
would
be
the
chin
flap.
This
piece
inserts
into
the
lower
front
part
of
the
helmet
and
keeps
air
from
flowing
up
into
your
face
from
in
between
your
chin
and
the
front
of
the
helmet.
Closable
air
vents
is
another
bonus.
These
will
keep
you
cool
during
the
day
should
it
warm
up
and
block
the
incoming
air
at
night
when
it
is
cooler.
They
also
are
very
useful
for
keeping
your
shield
fog
free.
Last,
but
not
least,
to
complete
your
winter
head
protection,
the
Balaclava.
These
are
available
in
many
colors
and
fabrics.
If
you
tend
to
get
cold
easy,
I
would
recommend
the
thermal
with
a
little
thicker
material
and
the
nylon
for
just
wind
protection.
On
to
the
jacket
and
gloves
part
of
the
newsletter.
There
are
endless
combinations
out
there.
You
can
never
fail
when
going
with
a
major
brand
(i.e.
ICON,
AlpineStars,
Joe
Rocket,
ect).
Make
sure
to
find
a
jacket
with
a
padded
liner,
not
just
simple
nylon
liner.
This
will
insure
that
not
only
will
you
clock
the
wind,
but
it
will
actually
keep
you
warm
too!
In
gloves,
it
is
pretty
straight
forward.
Get
all-weather
winter
gloves.
Period.
You
will
thank
me
for
it.
I
personally
have
some
Joe
Rocket
gloves
with
their
Thermolite
"Dry
Tech"
multi
layer
water
proofing
system
and
I
could
not
be
happier.
They
never
fail
me
on
the
cold
days
or
when
it
is
raining.
They
also
have
a
wiper
built
into
the
thumb/wrist
area
of
the
glove
to
help
clean
off
your
face
shield.
In
pants
I
think
it
goes
without
saying
that
you
should
double
up.
Make
sure
to
put
on
your
long-johns(long
underwear)
or
some
type
of
Under
Armor
under
your
riding
pants
to
keep
your
legs
warm.
For
socks,
anything
thermal
rated
and
long
would
do
the
trick.
Not
many
people
own
more
than
one
set
of
riding
boots,
and
most
are
vented.
I
would
highly
recommend
picking
up
some
good
winter
boots
though.
Well
worth
the
money
when
you
consider
how
much
more
enjoyable
the
ride
will
be
not
having
your
feet
get
frost
bit!
This
concludes
this
month's
newsletter.

of
the
equipment
mentioned
above
