• Engines are best stored with a fresh oil change, and preferably inside a weatherproof building
• Check the battery, clean the battery terminals, and connect a Battery Tender. If the bike must be stored outside, simply remove the battery and store it inside on the Tender
• Lube the chain, and wipe some oil on the fork sliders (careful not to get oil on the rotors or brake pads)
• Be sure the tires are properly inflated. If possible, get the tires off the ground with wheelstands. If you don't have stands, move the bike every few weeks to avoid flat spotting
• The gas needs to be treated with a fuel stabilizer. Stabil is the most popular brand. Doing this prevents the fuel from breaking down and leaving a sticky, varnish-like residue. Run the bike for 5-10 minutes to make sure the Stabil gets into the carbs (fuel injected bikes only need to run for 1-2 minutes)
• You'll want to drain the float bowls on carburated bikes by unscrewing the small screw on the carb float bowl. Any fuel left in the bowls for more than two months will turn to jet-clogging sludge (disregard this step if bike is fuel injected)
• Fill gas tank to the top. Air has moisture, which causes rust in the tank. no air, no moisture, no rust.
• If the bike has a cooling system, check the level. If it has been a few years, flush and replace anti-freeze. Leaving the cooling system low or empty can cause rust and corrosion
• Lube your cables. Lube suspension and pivot joints.
• Wash the bike before storing it. make sure it's dry before covering
• Covers are nice, but be careful of high winds if the bike is kept outside.
• Do not just run the engine without riding the bike during this period - you'll create condensation in the engine and combustion byproducts in the oil. If you take the bike out for a ride, you'll want to get the bike up to temperature, so make sure you ride around for about an hour.

We will provide a climate controlled space with battery tender hookup as well as winterizing and dewinterizing the unit at the appropriate time. Just give us a few days notice when you want to pick it up and we will have it washed, serviced, and ready to ride for spring. Move in for $199.00 (includes winterization/dewinterization AND schedule 1 service). Then pay $89/month or $75/month if stored for four month minimum. Also, you keep the battery tender and connections.
