Do you know the difference between Horsepower vs Torque? I have the following information for you..
Join us December 5th for our Advance Performance Seminar at 10:00 AM.

Horsepower

Horsepower is the amount of work that can be done in a certain amount of time, or "the rate of work", or "the rate of energy transfer between systems". A measurement for power that is commonly used in the U.S., abbreviated as "hp". James Watt invented this unit after observing that a horse could lift at a rate of about 550 pounds 1 foot per second for about an 8-hour shift. 1 hp.= moving 550 lb. 1 foot per second or 33,000 lb. 1 foot per minute. Horsepower is how quickly you can apply torque over a given distance.

Torque

Torque is a force that tends to cause a rotation. A force applied at a non-zero distance from an object's centre will tend to rotate the object. This is easily seen in real life. If you put a wrench on a bolt and pull on the end of the wrench, the bolt will turn. If you apply the same pulling force directly on the bolt, it will not turn, because the force is not distant from the object's centre. The amount of torque is determined by multiplying the magnitude of the force by the force's distance from centre.

Think of torque as an instantaneous push on a door, where as work (Power) would be pushing the door over a distance.
