battery
is
left

winter.

marine
engines
have
computers
on
them,

unless
disconnected
it
will
slowly
drain
the
battery
dead.
This
slow
discharge
of
the
battery
can
take
it
so
low
that
the
battery
cannot

re-charged
and

EPA
has
made
some
changes
that
will
impact
the
marine
industry
effective
January
1st,
2010.
On
this
date,
in-board/outboard(sterndrive)
engines
that
don’t
meet
emissions
standards
can
not
be
produced.
This
means
that
all
engines
except
for
the
4.3L
engine
will
now
have
a
catalytic
converter
added
to
them
similar
to
your
car.
The
addition
of
this
part
adds
$1,500-$2,500
to
the
price
of
all
boats.
This
makes
now
one
of
the
best
times
to
purchase
a
boat.
Take
advantage
of
the
lower
prices
as
dealers
are
liquidating
inventory
and
still
have
non-catalytic
engines
still
available.
All
boats
with
non-catalytic
engines
still
can
be
sold
and
used.
This
law
only
affects
new-manufactured
engines
after
January
1st,
2010.
