Jump-start your Bayou Thunder weekend with a great sunset concert at Heritage Park and a killer afterparty at Southside Cafe! The teriffic local band Witness will begin playing at 6:00pm! Heritage Park is located on Front Street (Hwy 11) in Slidell, across from Old Slidell and the Train Station. Entrances are found at Front Street and Pennsylvania St., and at Front Street and Fremaux Ave. |

The K-Bar-B Youth Ranch in Lacombe will benefit from the group ride on Saturday morning. Upon registration, riders will have the option to buy 50/50 raffle tickets for $1.00 each ticket, or $5.00 for six tickets. At the end of the ride, a ticket will be drawn and the winner will receive half of the money collected. The remaining half of the funds will be donated to the K-Bar-B Youth Ranch. Sunday afternoon will climax with the drawing of the winning raffle ticket in the Bayou Thunder Bike Raffle! The lucky raffle winner will receive a 2004 Harley-Davidson Softail Deuce motorcycle. Raffle tickets are on sale now for $20 and can be purchased at NorthShore Harley-Davidson. Only 2,500 tickets will be sold in all. Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the MDA. MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat neuromuscular diseases through worldwide research, comprehensive services, and far-reaching professional and public health education. In addition, MDA maintains over 230 clinics nationwide, including ones at LSU Medical Center and Children's Hospital, local support groups, and Camp Sunshine for kids with muscle-wasting diseases. MDA was the first nonprofit recognized by the American Medical Association with a Lifetime Achievement Award "for significant and lasting contributions to the health and welfare of humanity." |
