As
riding
season
approaches,
we
would
like
to
ensure
you
have
all
the
essentials
needed
to
keep
you
not
only
comfortable
while
riding,
but
safe
as
well.
Your
safety
while
riding
is
very
important
to
us.
A
helmet
is
a
serious
piece
of
safety
gear
and
we
want
to
help
you
make
sure
that
yours
is
still
protecting
you
properly.
Here
are
some
tips
on
the
life
of
your
helmet
and
how
to
care
for
it
to
keep
it
looking,
and
protecting
at
its
best.
Life
of
a
Helmet
•
If
a
helmet
is
dropped
or
suffers
an
impact,
it
should
be
replaced
immediately.
The
impact
could
fracture
the
outer
shell
or
compress
the
impact-absorbing
liner.
The
damage
may
NOT
be
visible.
•
Helmets
should
be
replaced
every
3-5
years,
according
to
manufactures
and
the
SNELL
foundation.
Glues,
resins,
and
other
helmet
materials
break
down
over
time.
Other
factors
that
can
add
to
helmet
deterioration
are
hair
oils,
sweat,
cosmetics,
and
even
the
sun’s
UV
rays.
•
Check
that
your
helmet
still
fits
properly
by
placing
the
helmet
on
your
head
and
fastening
the
chin
strap.
The
helmet
should
NOT
be
able
to
roll
forward
off
your
head.
You
should
feel
the
skin
on
your
head
move
with
the
helmet.
Keeping
it
Clean
•
DON’T
use
solvents
or
chemicals
to
clean
any
part
of
your
helmet
or
shield.
They
can
destroy
protective
coatings
and
compromise
the
structural
reliability
of
the
helmet.
•
DON’T
use
a
dry
cloth
to
clean
debris
from
a
face
shield
or
you
might
scratch
the
shield.
•
Use
a
mild
soap
and
water
to
wash
the
outer
shell
and
clean
the
shield
with
warm
water
and
a
soft,
lint-free
cloth
as
soon
as
dirt
accumulates.
•
Hand
wash
the
internal
liners
with
mild
soap
and
let
air
dry.
•
Use
compressed
air
to
clean
helmet
air
vents
and
channels.
