| We
Broke
Our
Cabin
Fever |
|
On
Saturday,
January
23,
the
Wolf
Creek
HOG
chapter
hosted
the
Cabin
Fever
Ride.
We
had
new
friends
join
us
from
High
Point,
Greensboro,
Burlington,
Reidsville,
and
Durham.
We
had
45
bikes
pull
out
from
Wolf
Creek
at
11
A.
M.
Our
own
Amy
Jacobson
saw
us
off.
We
traveled
down
Highway
150
through
Rockingham
County.
We
crossed
into
Caswell
County,
traveled
to
Yanceyville
and
took
at
break
at
the
Hardees
we
always
stop
at.
After
a
brief
break,
and
another
biker
joining
us,
we
made
our
way
to
Roxboro.
Traveling
into
Person
County
and
following
the
back
country
roads,
we
saw
some
very
nice
scenery.
We
passed
through
Haw
River
which
is
in
Alamance
County
and
onto
Mebane
where
we
took
a
break
at
the
Sonic
Drive
In.
When
we
finished
socializing
at
that
break,
some
of
the
Greensboro
and
High
Point
friends
and
the
lady
from
Durham
went
in
their
own
directions.
The
rest
of
us
proceeded
through
Alamance
County
across
some
very
pretty
lakes
and
more
beautiful
scenery
to
Caswell
County.
After
a
little
over
100
miles,
we
ended
back
up
on
Highway
87
and
back
to
Wolf
Creek
for
a
cookout.
We
want
to
give
a
BIG
thank
you
to
all
the
people
who
came
to
Reidsville
to
ride
with
us.
We
want
to
invite
you
back
any
time
join
us
again.
We
also
got
invitations
to
participate
in
the
rides
the
other
clubs
have
coming
up
and
definitely
plan
to
take
them
up
on
those
rides.
We
also
want
to
give
a
BIG
shout
out
to
Sonic
of
Reidsville
for
all
they
do
in
supporting
the
HOG
group
of
Wolf
Creek.

| Ride
to
Daytona |
|
Did
you
know
that
the
Daytona
Bike
races
in
February
and
October
mark
the
official
beginning
and
end
of
the
motorcycle
riding
season?
So,
what
better
way
to
kick
off
the
best
season
of
the
year...Riding
Season...than
to
Ride
to
Daytona
for
Bike
Week
and
I
want
you
to
join
me.
It
has
been
a
few
years
since
Tara
and
I
have
gone
to
Daytona
for
Bike
Week
since
we
have
been
working
on
growing
our
family.
With
two
young
children,
ages
1
and
2,
we
were
not
able
to
attend
and
enjoy
ourselves
without
a
baby
on
the
way.
This
March
we
are
leading
a
Ride
to
Daytona.
I
currently
have
(3)
two
bedroom
suites,
(4)
one
bedroom
suites
and
(1)
king
size
room
blocked
at
Destination
Daytona.
They
were
the
last
of
the
available
rooms.
We
will
be
staying
within
walking
distance
of
restaurants,
parties,
live
shows
and
so
much
more
fun.
We
will
be
riding
down
on
Thursday,
March
4th,
leaving
from
Harley-Davidson
of
Greensboro
at
8am,
riding
back
on
Sunday,
March
7th.
I
have
arranged
for
a
chase
vehicle
and
trailer
that
can
accommodate
up
to
8
motorcycles.
So
if
you
break
down
or
get
tired,
we
got
you
covered.
I
hope
you
can
join
me
in
celebrating
the
Best
Season
of
the
Year.
Remember,
the
rooms
are
limited
and
will
only
be
blocked
off
for
us
until
Thursday,
February
25th
so
please
contact
Amy
Jacobson
at
the
Greensboro
shop
for
pricing
and
more
information
as
soon
as
possible.

| A
Great
Southern
Tradition |
| Brunswick
Stew |
Almost
anywhere
you
go
in
the
South,
you
will
hear
conflicting
stories
as
to
how
this
great
community
tradition
got
started.
Whether
it
was
a
disgruntled
hunter
left
behind
to
cook
dinner
or
a
member
of
the
Virginia
State
Legislator
asking
for
a
special
stew
for
those
attending
his
reelection
political
rally,
the
Brunswick
Stew
was
waiting
to
be
invented
with
the
right
ingredients
and
community
participation.
John
Herbers,
as
a
reporter
in
the
Washington
bureau
of
The
New
York
Times,
summed
it
up
perfectly.
Such
"dishes
evoke
a
nostalgia
for
the
particular
place
that
the
South
was,
and
that
memory
rekindles
the
appetite.
Brunswick
stew,
associated
with
community
gatherings,
conjures
a
feeling
for
the
traditional
family,
the
blending
of
friends
and
neighbors,
the
feeling
of
security
in
the
whirl
of
socializing
that
went
on
in
good
times
and
bad."
In
this
spirit
of
friends,
family
and
community,
the
High
Point
HOG
Club
and
Harley-Davidson
of
High
Point
would
like
to
invite
you
to
a
Brunswick
Stew
and
Food
Drive
Saturday,
February
20
at
Harley-Davidson
of
High
Point
from
12-5pm.
High
Point
HOG
Club
will
be
meeting
at
the
High
Point
shop
about
6am
that
morning
to
start
cooking
the
stew.
They
will
be
selling
bowls
of
stew
accompanied
by
a
soda
and
crackers
for
$3.00
per
bowl.
For
those
who
may
want
to
have
an
extra
meal
in
the
frig
at
home,
you
will
be
able
to
purchase
a
quart
of
stew
for
$5.00.
To
add
to
the
festivities
of
the
day,
the
Club
will
be
selling
tickets
for
a
50/50
raffle
and
providing
some
musical
entertainment.
Rumor
has
it
there
could
be
some
Karaoke
going
on!
All
the
proceeds
from
this
fundraiser
will
be
used
by
the
Club
to
support
local
charities
throughout
the
year,
such
as
Brenner
Children's
Hospital
and
Horizon's
Residential
Care
Center.
In
addition
to
the
Brunswick
Stew,
the
High
Point
HOG
Club
is
also
conducting
a
food
drive.
We
encourage
you
to
bring
some
non-perishable
food
items
with
you
to
help
benefit
Urban
Ministries
and
other
local
food
pantries.
We
hope
you
all
will
join
us
on
Saturday,
February
20th
for
a
wonderful
Southern
community
tradition
full
of
great
food,
great
fun
and
great
fellowship
in
support
of
our
great
local
charities. |

| A
Harley
Rider
Needs
A
Place
to
Put
His/Her
Stuff |
|
You
may
remember
a
commercial
for
pickup
trucks
that
had
as
the
final
tag
line
“a
man
needs
a
place
to
put
his
stuff”
as
a
guy
tosses
an
empty
can
into
the
bed
of
his
truck.
If
you,
man
or
woman,
ride
a
Harley
that
is
not
already
equipped
with
saddlebags
or
a
tour
pack
you
also
need
a
place
to
put
your
stuff.
Fortunately
the
folks
at
Harley
have
provided
some
very
versatile
bags
and
bag
sets
to
meet
precisely
that
need.
The
multi-fit
bag
sets
have
been
improved
in
the
last
couple
of
years
to
include
a
self-contained
and
tethered
rain
cover
with
high
visibility
stripes
for
those
times
you
get
caught
in
a
downpour.
They
also
have
some
well
thought-out
redesigned
zippered
pockets
and
key
fob
clips
which
enhances
convenience.
The
bags
are
called
multi-fit
because
they
have
four
different
size
sleeves
to
fit
over
sissy
bars
from
the
narrow
pad
Sportster
to
the
wide
pad
Road
King.
I
have
used
one
of
the
“Overnight”
medium-sized
bags
for
the
last
four
years
with
my
Dyna
and
it
still
looks
and
functions
like
new.
A
convenient
handle
is
included
so
you
can
unclip
the
two
tethering
straps
and
use
the
bag
like
a
piece
of
luggage.
Really
long
rides
may
require
extra
storage
even
if
you
are
already
fully
equipt
with
saddlebags
or
touring
packs.
These
bags
can
be
attached
to
tour
pack
racks
or
sissy
bar
racks,
providing
that
extra
margin
of
storage
for
two-up,
or
all-day
rides.
For
those
fortunate
enough
to
have
two
or
more
Harleys,
these
multi-fit
bags
provide
an
affordable,
effective
way
to
equip
several
different
rides
for
“stuff”
storage
with
a
single
purchase.
Come
by
and
let
me
demonstrate
the
versatility.
You
will
be
glad
you
did!
