Chapter Ride - 50/50 Rule
The 50/50 Rule is very basic: if the outside temperature is below 50 degrees; or we have a forecast of precipitation of 50% or more then the ride is cancelled. This will allow everyone to know that status before departing for the ride. However, don’t let this stop you from riding if you so desire.

Ozark Mountain Chapter Of Lebanon #2575

February 2010 Newsletter

The Director's Minute
We had a really good turnout for our first meeting of the year. It was a get to know everyone better, since we were elbow to elbow. But everyone managed the crowding. Quite a few rode in spite of the weather. This tells me everyone is ready to start riding again
Thanks to those who participated and received awards for the Chapter Challenge. A very special thank you to all who volunteered last year! We could not do it without you.
Our officers are planning short rides, dinner rides, day rides and multiple day, destination rides. We are working out details for a ride to Milwaukee, for Harley-Davidson’s Celebrate Women Riders in May. There will be a touring ride in August, somewhere other than Marble Falls.
All of our rides need Road Captains to lead, to ride in the middle and to bring up the rear. Being a Road Captain isn’t hard, so give it a try this year. We will have training in March so plan on being there.
If any one has any ideas, suggestions, comments, or criticisms, get them to any of the officers. This is your Chapter, and we are here working for you! We want this Chapter to be about companionship and riding and having fun.
Our next chapter meeting is February 21st, at Chopstix in St Robert. Address is 240 Marshall Drive. Take exit 161 off I-44 toward I-44 Business Loop/Hwy Y, Right onto I-44 spur south/Missouri Ave. Turn left onto Eastlawn Ave./Texas Rd. (just before Arby’s) Turn left onto Marshall Drive Phone # 573-336-0104.

See ya'll there and ride safe.
Bill

Our annual Ladies Garage Party will be Saturday, March, 27. We have switched things up a little this year, so be sure and get pre-registered. Our pre-registration ends March 15, contact Ashley or Jenna to get on the list.

Chapter Touring Contest

Ozark Harley-Davidson will be participating in the COPE Chili cook-off again this year at the Cowan Civic Center. Stop by and see us on Saturday, February 20 and try our chili. This annual event raises money for the COPE House in Lebanon, a home for victims of domestic violence.

Schedule your service appointment with either Dealership now through February 28th and receive 50% off your labor. See the service department for details.

The Secretary's Corner
The January meeting was called to order by Director Bill DeCastro. We had 39 members present with no new members or guests. We would like to give a warm welcome back to Scott and Maggie McKay.
Treasurer, Karen DeCastro stated that we had a starting balance of $3196.46. The Treasurer's report was approved and seconded as presented.
Safety Officer, Richard Burch told everyone that Road Captain training will be held on 27 March at T’s Redneck Steakhouse in Lebanon beginning at 1pm.
Chapter Challenge, Brian Black indicated the chapter challenge books are ready. He explained the chapter challenge is based on the ABCs of touring and the rules can be found on the back of the chapter challenge books. He also mentioned that the book must be in each photo to get credit.
Dealership/Sponsor, Missy Jemes announced that the labor promo will be continued through 28 February with 50% off your labor. If you have questions see the service department. The dealership will be participating in the COPE Chili cook-off again this year at the Cowan Civic Center in Lebanon on 20 February. For those who don’t know what COPE is, it is a home for victims of domestic violence. The Winter Riding Club will end on 6 March. This is the only day you can have your mileage documented. You must bring your motorcycle in to whichever dealership you registered with to have your ending mileage documented. If you registered at both dealerships, you must turn mileage into both dealerships. Ozark Harley Davidson will be hosting its Annual Ladies Garage Party on 27 March. Pre-registration for the garage party ends on 15 March. Contact Ashley or Jenna to get on the list.
Assistant Director, JR Doer reminded everyone about the State Rally being held in Columbia, MO this year. The Holiday Inn will be the host hotel for this event on 26-28 August and he has their number for anyone interested.
Director, Bill DeCastro announced the February meeting will be held at Chopstix in Saint Robert. Directions will be posted in the newsletter. The March meeting will be at Western Sizzlin’ in Lebanon. Karen Price had chapter photos available if you signed up for one. He announced there would not be a National HOG rally this year. Hog will celebrate Women Riders month in Milwaukee 21-21 May and Riding the Ridge in the Blue Ridge Mountains from Roanoke, VA to Asheville, NC 12-16 Jul. The chapter will also be planning a destination ride this spring, location TBD.
