Chapter Chapter Ride - 50/50 Rule The 50/50 Rule is very basic: if the outside temperature is below 50 degrees; or we have a forecast of precipitation of 50% or more then the ride is cancelled. This will allow everyone to know that status before departing for the ride. However, don’t let this stop you from riding if you so desire. Ozark Mountain Chapter Of Lebanon #2575 March 2010 Newsletter The Director's Minute Well, good old Mother Nature, stopped everyone from riding to our Feb. meeting. Guy Daniels and Brian Black were the lone exceptions. I think that they qualify, as HARD CORE riders. The Chapter scrapbook for last year is finished, and is at the dealership. Thank you Jill, Karen and Tammie ! Our book was kinda puny compared to the Lake Chapter’s, so lets swamp Karen Price with photos this year. I know a lot of you take a lot of pictures, so how about sharing them with everyone? Calendars for the first half of the year, are now available. Get one at the Chapter meetings or at the dealership. They are nice Harley orange, so you can’t miss them. Road Captain training is set for March 14, 2pm at Lake Career Technical Center Main Campus in Camdenton. If you would like to be a Road Captain, you need to attend this training. Captains not only lead, they ride middle and bring up the rear. Sign up with Lee Brown, our Head Road Captain. His e-mail is leebrown@windstar.net We are still looking for new places to ride to this year. Short, long or destination rides. Also places to eat, for our Dinner Rides, Lunch Rides or Touring Rides. If you have somewhere you would like to go, then tell one of the officers. Any events such as other State Rallies, that you would like to make into a group ride, let us know. We welcome any and all suggestions. We need someone to take charge of the Spring Dice Challenge Ride. This is like a Poker Run but using dice instead of cards. Anyone interested? Also, if you would like to volunteer to be Chair person for any of our other events or rides, let one of the officers know. You will not have to do them all by yourself. We will work with you! The Secretary's Corner The February meeting was called to order by Director Bill DeCastro. We had 35 members present and one guests, Jessica Decker. Treasurer, Karen DeCastro stated that we had an account balance of $3076.65. The Treasurer's report was approved and seconded as presented. Editor/Membership, Tammie Black told us the chapter now has 271 members. Photographer/Historian, Karen Price indicated she needs pictures. Last year photos were scarce for the book. If you could please provide pictures of your bike trips they would be greatly appreciated. Head Road Captain, Lee Brown reminded everyone that road captain training will be conducted on 14 March in Camdenton at the R3 Schools Career Center beginning at 2pm. Gary Cuendet from the Lake chapter will be providing the training. Ladies of Harley, Karen DeCastro had a signup sheet for Ladies of Harley members. If you have any ideas on how LOH should support the chapter better, please get with her. Chapter Challenge, Brian Black indicated he has this years chapter challenge books for those needing them. Activities Officer, Guy Daniels announced the Spring Poker Run on 24 April 2010 will be a “Dice Run”. Dealership/Sponsor, Missy Jemes reminded everyone that the Winter Riding Club will end on 6 March. This is the only day you can have your mileage documented. You must bring your motorcycle in to whichever dealership you registered with to have your ending mileage documented. The Ladies Garage Party will be held on 27 March so please pre-register by 15 March. There are several promos being offered right now with the purchase of select model bikes. Missy thanked everyone who manned the booth at the Chili cook-off, we took second place to decorations. Great job Rebecca, Mark, Guy, and Brian. Assistant Director, JR Doer made a motion to support Project Prom Closet. The motion was seconded and a vote taken to donate $100 from the chapter. This is a project where a group of individuals help make it possible for teens to attend their Prom. Rebecca Hamilton indicated this group will take monetary donations, both male and female attire, accessories, shoes, etc. If anyone would like to help beyond what the chapter is donating, please contact Michelle at ETC in Lebanon Director, Bill DeCastro announced the March meeting will be held at Western Sizzlin in Lebanon. He also announced that Best Western and cell phone carriers are offering discounts to Hog members. There is a group of members planning to attend Women Riders month in Milwaukee 21-21 May. If you would like to go, let Bill DeCastro know. The All-Harley Drags-Gypsy Rendezvous Nationals will be held 16-18 Apr and this will also be a pin stop. The Colorado State Rally will be combined with the Utah State Rally this year beginning in Utah, riding through the Zion National Park and ending in Durango, Colorado. 50-50 was won by Mark Post.
