50/50
Rule |
|
The
50/50
Rule
is
very
basic:
if
the
outside
temperature
is
below
50
degrees;
or
we
have
a
forecast
of
precipitation
of
50%
or
more
then
the
ride
is
cancelled.
This
will
allow
everyone
to
know
that
status
before
departing
for
the
ride.
However,
don’t
let
this
stop
you
from
riding
if
you
so
desire.

Helmet
Info. |
April
is
Check
Your
Helmet
Month.
Over
time,
a
helmet’s
protective
impact
liner
compacts
with
use,
leading
to
improper
fit.
In
addition,
helmet
materials
break
down
over
time
and
hair
oils,
sweat,
cosmetics
–
even
the
sun’s
UV
rays
can
add
to
helmet
deterioration.
Helmet
manufacturers
and
the
SNELL
Foundation
recommend
replacing
your
helmet
every
3
to
5
years,
depending
on
use,
to
ensure
optimal
helmet
performance.
If
a
helmet
is
dropped
or
suffers
any
impact,
it
should
be
replaced
immediately.
Impact
may
fracture
the
outer
shell
or
compress
the
impact-absorbing
liner,
and
the
damage
may
not
be
visible.
Ozark
H-D
and
Lake
of
the
Ozarks
H-D
are
offering
a
15%
discount
on
all
helmet
purchases
on
Fri.,
April
23
and
Sat.,
April
24.
If
you
bring
in
your
old
helmet,
you
will
receive
20%
off
your
helmet
purchase-these
two
days
only. |

The
Director's
Minute |
|
Finally
Mother
Nature
let
us
have
our
first
after
meeting
ride
this
year.
Some
of
us
rode
to
Jacob’s
Cave,
north
of
Gravois
Mills.
This
is
one
of
the
caves
on
the
chapter
challenge.
We
had
a
very
informative
and
entertaining
guide
lead
our
tour.
The
cave
was
discovered
in
1881.
Visitors
had
to
crawl
through
a
narrow,
low,
muddy
passageway
to
enter
the
cave.
They
were
charged
25
cents
for
this
delightful
experience.
This
old
entrance
can
still
be
seen
off
to
the
side
of
the
main
entrance
and
it
doesn’t
look
very
inviting.
Since
it
was
too
nice
a
day
to
waste
by
not
riding
further,
some
rode
around
the
north
end
of
the
lake.
Then
out
towards
Richland
to
head
home.
Don’t
forget,
our
May
chapter
meeting
will
be
at
Lake
of
the
Ozarks
H-D
dealership--6482
Hwy
54,
between
Camdenton
and
Osage
Beach
(Past
Big
Surf
Water
Park.)
We
will
have
the
use
of
the
big
white
tent
for
our
event.
Guys
you
are
responsible
for
bring
lunch
for
your
lady
and
yourself.
Water
and
sodas
will
be
provided.
Afterwards
we
will
take
a
short
ride
to
Coldstone
Creamery
for
ice
cream.
The
creamery
is
located
in
the
Factory
Outlet
Mall
on
Hwy
54,
in
Osage
Beach.
Karen
is
getting
revved
up
for
our
first
out
of
state
ride
this
year.
We
are
going
to
Milwaukee
for
Celebrate
Women
Riders
in
May.
So
far
there
is
only
one
other
couple
going
with
us.
If
you
would
like
to
go
let
us
know.

First
and
foremost
I
would
like
to
thank
everyone
for
attending
our
gathering
for
April.
Secondly,
I
would
like
to
thank
our
Sponsors
for
the
awesome
job
they
do.
Now
on
to
our
MO
H.O.G.
Rally,
when
calling
to
get
reservations
it
is
imperative
that
you
tell
reservations
clerk
that
you
are
making
your
reservations
for
the
H.O.G.
Rally
if
you
don't
tell
them
that
they
will
tell
you
Hotel
is
booked
up.
Thank
you
Brian
for
getting
that
cleared
up
for
us.
We
have
a
Dice
Run
this
Saturday
(April
24)
in
case
of
rain
date
will
be
moved
to
Sunday
the
25th,
Thanks
in
advance
to
all
the
Volunteers
and
I
hope
to
see
y'all
there.
Our
next
monthly
gathering
we
will
be
celebrating
Mothers
Day
(all
door
prizes
will
be
lady
oriented)
we
will
meet
at
the
Lake
store
and
have
a
picnic
lunch,
then
ride
to
Coldstone
Creamery
for
Ice
Cream
for
dessert.
Gentlemen
it
is
our
duty
to
get
the
picnic
lunch
put
together
and
packed,
unfortunately
I
will
not
be
able
to
attend
this
event
so
I
wish
to
say
to
all
the
Mother's
out
there
Happy
Mother's
Day
and
thank
you
for
all
you
do.
Remember
without
Mother's
none
of
us
would
be
here.
Until
next
time
get
out
there
and
be

A
Nice
Ride |
|
I
would
like
to
take
a
few
minutes
to
share
with
you
a
very
nice
ride
we
had
with
some
friends
of
ours
on
Saturday.
Just
to
have
some
sharing
time
we
got
together
and
took
off
for
El
Dorado
to
the
Rusty
Zug.
We
had
read
about
it
in
an
article
and
had
wanted
to
go.
This
was
a
trip
worth
taking.
The
people
at
the
restaurant
were
very
nice
and
friendly,
and
the
food
was
beyond
awesome.
It
takes
a
while
to
read
the
menu
with
names
like
Wyatt
Earp,
Doc
Holliday,
Billy
the
Kid,
and
others
I
can’t
even
remember.
This
was
a
real
SALOON
atmosphere.
The
food
was
way
more
than
you
could
eat,
the
root
beer
just
kept
coming,
and
we
didn’t
even
get
to
the
desserts.
We
were
there
for
at
least
two
hours,
and
never
once
did
we
feel
like
they
needed
us
to
get
up
and
go.
Any
one
who
needs
a
really
nice
place,
this
is
it.
I
highly
recommend
everyone
try
the
fried
potato
salad.
Trust
me,
you’ll
love
it.
It
took
us
about
an
hour
and
a
half
to
get
there
going
down
54,
and
about
two
hours
home
by
way
of
Warsaw.
This
is
what
HOG
is
all
about.
Friends
getting
together
and
spending
time
riding
and
enjoying
the
weather,
and
then
spending
time
enjoying
a
meal.
It
was
a
grand
day.
