INDIANAPOLIS,
Feb.
18
–
Dealernews,
the
premier
business-to-business
magazine
for
powersports
retailers,
announces
the
winners
of
the
15th
Annual
Top
100
Awards,
the
industry’s
largest,
longest
running
and
most
prestigious
retail
competition.
The
Top
100
Awards
recognize
dealerships
for
retail
design
and
merchandising
approaches,
promotional
innovations
and
dedication
to
customer
service.
“It’s
become
apparent
that
powersports
dealers
have
raised
the
bar
in
terms
of
how
they
present
and
merchandise
products
in
their
stores,”
says
Dealernews
publisher
and
competition
director
Mike
Vaughan.
“Over
the
past
few
years
more
dealers
have
remodeled
and
reorganized
their
stores.
Many
of
them
compare
favorably
within
any
of
the
nation’s
top
general
retail
outlets.
It’s
becoming
increasingly
difficult
to
assess
just
which
dealers
qualify
for
the
title
of
North
America’s
Top
100
as
more
of
them
adopt
state-of-the-art
merchandising
and
display
practices.”
The
2006
Top
100
Dealers
were
honored
Feb.
17
during
an
awards
gala
in
Indianapolis.
The
Top
100
winning
entries
were
showcased
in
a
three-day
photo
gallery
exhibit
during
the
38th
Annual
Dealernews
International
Powersports
Dealer
Expo,
held
Feb.
18-20
at
the
Indiana
Convention
Center
&
RCA
Dome.
This
year’s
winners
also
will
be
commemorated
in
the
2006
Top
100
Yearbook
and
Merchandising
Guide,
to
be
published
in
April
by
Dealernews.
States
that

to
be
Missouri,

and

although
dealers
from
Colorado
and

Carolina
are
gaining
ground
in
the
competition.
Dealers
from
36
states

two
Canadian
provinces
are
represented
in
the
Top

DON'T

THIS! |
|
|
Come
meet
Gary
Eagan
at
our
open
house
this
Saturday
Feburary
25th
9:00
-
5:00
Gary
rode
on
his
Ducati
Multistrada
motorcycle
from
the
northern
most
point
in
Alaska
to
the
southern
most
point
in
Florida;-
a
total
of
5,632
miles
(9,063
kilometers)
in
4
days
5
hours!
We
will
have
his
118k
ST3
on
display
for
this
event.
In
an
effort
to
continue
to
bring
you
seminars
and
clinics
that
help
you
in
your
riding
experiences,
Gary
will
present
two
presentations
during
the
day.
The
10:00
presentation
will
be
"The
Three
"B's"
It's
a
presentation
Gary
worked
up
at
the
request
of
the
AMA
and
gave
it
in
four
seminars
during
last
summers
AMA
Vintage
Days
at
Mid
Ohio.
In
this
presentation,
he
will
go
over
every
aspect
of
preparing
one's
Body,
Bike
&
Brain
(Hence
the
Three
Bs)
for
more
effective
and
enjoyable
riding.
Ergonomic
considerations
in
bike
preparation,
physical
preparation
from
exercising
to
nutrition
to
clothing
and
then
mental
"tuning"
to
make
the
miles
flow
more
easily.
This
isn't
just
aimed
at
long
distance
types,
but
toward
anyone
who
rides
any
type
of
bike.
All
four
sessions
at
the
AMA
in
Ohio
were
"sold
out."
YOU
CAN"T
MISS
THIS!
The
second
presentation
at
2:00
is
Gary's
photo
and
philosophical
ramblings
about
sport
touring.
Gary's
premise
is
that
the
US
is
in
a
state
of
flux,
and
the
opportunity
to
find
pockets
of
the
"Old
America"
is
on
the
wane,
especially
in
the
midwest's
former
farming
and
ranching
belts.
The
motorcycle
is
the
way
to
accomplish
this,
similar
to
the
way
our
old
hero
TV
&
movie
cowboys
roamed
on
their
horses,
from
his
perspective,
as
motorcycles
seem
to
invite
sometimes
"wary"
strangers
to
strike
up
communications.
Gary
has
pictures
(about
80
or
so)
from
rides
&
locales
throughout
the
US,
Canada,
New
Zealand,
South
America
and
Europe.
This
is
simply
a
moto/philosophical
picture
show
that
will
be
very
entertaining.
Both
presentations
are
open
for
random
involvement
from
the
audience.
Nothing
formal,
and
anyone
is
invited
to
ask
questions,
offer
their
own
experiences
and
get
involved
in
any
way
possible.
Gary
will
be
be
here
all
day
signing
autographs
and
sharing
his
experiences
with
you.

2004 Ducati Multistrada
1000DS

1,008
miles,
The
Multistrada
1000
DS
is
a
complete
sport
motorcycle
for
enthusiasts
who
ride
as
often
and
in
as
many
challenging
conditions
as
possible.
Its
riding
position
is
more
upright
than
the
classic
''forward-lean''
ergonomics
of
most
sport
bikes
without
compromising
performance.
As
a
result,
the
Multistrada
carves
up
mountain
passes
like
a
race
bike,
but
is
still
comfortable
for
hours
of
two-up
adventure
touring.
This
perfect
balance
appeals
to
a
wide
range
of
riding
styles,
from
the
most
aggressive
to
more
relaxed.
Capable
of
showing
up
even
the
most
specialized
of
sport
bikes,
the
Multistrada
is
also
accessible
to
new
riders.
The
bike
exceeds
the
expectations
of
any
enthusiast
who
rides
it.
The
Multistrada's
outstanding
performance
is
the
result
of
more
than
innovative
design.
Its
992
cc
engine
and
the
use
of
the
highest
quality
Superbike
components
throughout
also
are
key.
The
Multistrada
1000
DS
combines:
the
signature
Ducati
trellis
frame,
our
best
Superbike
suspension
with
more
travel,
race-bred
brakes
and
lightweight
alloy
wheels
with
high-performance
street
tires.
It
has
a
lightweight,
aluminum,
single-sided
swingarm
and
a
compact
and
narrow
fairing
to
provide
protection
from
the
elements.
A
full
line
of
accessories
--
like
color-matched
saddlebags,
rear
rack,
satellite
navigation
system
and
taller
windscreen
--
lets
you
further
extend
your
boundaries.
