HAPPY MAY!!!
I think it is safe to say that the summer riding weather is officially here...complete with sunny days, gorgeous nights and the occasional passing thunderstorm. We hope you are geared up and ready to go because we have a lot on the docket for this summer. Every weekend you will find something happening in our stores, whether it is music in the Motorcycle Park, new bikes and products arriving in the stores, HOG sponsored rides and events, and more.

Also be sure to keep your eyes open for some great charity rides and events coming up over the next few months. We need your help in benefiting such organizations as The Humane Society of the Piedmont, the Fire Science Scholarship Fund at GTCC, Rockingham County Fire & Rescue, Duke & Brenner Children’s Hospital Pediatric Cancer Units, local DAV Chapter and many more.

Are you looking for more fun? Well, The Steel Horse Saloon next door to the Greensboro shop has already begun its bike nights on Thursday evenings. With the parking lot full of bikes, the smell of food filling the air and DJ Bo Paschal rockin' some great music, this is the perfect way to kick off your weekend. Come July we will be turning up the heat a few more notches with the start of our Spokesmodel Search Preliminary Bikini Contests.

AND you don’t want to miss the biggest biker party around, Harley-Davidson of Greensboro’s HOT Harley Night, scheduled this year for Saturday, August 21st featuring live music by Dirty Surprise and the finale of our Spokesmodel Search Bikini & Biker Wear contest.

We are pumped for a great season and look forward to seeing all of you real soon. We are always here to answer any questions you may have, so give us a call, write us an email, or just stop on by!

Wolf Creek HOG Sponsors Ride
United Way of Rockingham County Close to Reaching Goal

Saturday, April 24, 2010 Wolf Creek Harley-Davidson: Despite the threat of rain, approximately 50 people came out to enjoy a day of camaraderie, riding, food, fun and door prizes in the second annual United Way of Rockingham County Ride UNITED. The fundraising event, sponsored by Wolf Creek Harley-Davidson and Wolf Creek Harley Owners Group, hosted riders from Guilford and Rockingham Counties and parts of Virginia to help the United Way of Rockingham County and its partner agencies provide safety, health, basic needs and educational services throughout Rockingham County. “This was our final fundraising effort for this campaign season. It was a wonderful day with the riders and a great ending to an exciting campaign season,” sited Campaign Chair and United Way Board Member, Charlie Hall. Riders toured through the County, making stops at four United Way funded agencies. “Our riders really enjoyed the tours today. A number of them expressed their surprise at how many services are available throughout our county and that they hope to take more advantage of programs at locations such as the Madison-Mayodan Recreation Commission and the Eden YMCA. They were also impressed by the amount of assistance that is given to community members in need through the American Red Cross and Salvation Army with United Way dollars,” commented Marilyn Payne, United Way Resource Development Director.

Until the day of the ride, United Way had raised 98.8% ($889,559) of its $900,000 campaign goal. “We still have one more employee workplace campaign to wrap up by the end of the month,” quoted Rick Hurley, United Way Executive Director. “This Harley Ride UNITED will help us with finishing the goal. And, it will help us to build lasting friendships with members of the community, giving us an opportunity to share with them how we can work together to keep our community strong and healthy.”

Charlie Hall is looking forward to sharing the results of this campaign season and how the dollars raised will benefit community members during the coming year. “The numbers are looking good! We appreciate Wolf Creek Harley-Davidson and the Wolf Creek HOG Club for having this event. Thanks to everyone for your participation in this great event and your support of our community by giving to the United Way of Rockingham County.”

Helping People One Ride at a Time!
Saturday, May 1, 2010 Harley-Davidson of High Point: It was a gorgeous May Day and the High Point Hog Chapter Ladies of Harley put on a ride to the Graybrier Nursing Home in Archdale. Participants were asked to bring donated items such as lotion, books, games, razors, soap, combs, brushes, nail kits and other useful items. The fee to ride was $5.00 a person. While the 14 bikes headed out on a nice ride through the country on their way to Graybrier, Rhonda Hess and Melanie Cooke went to purchase more needed items with the money that was raised. When everyone arrived at Graybrier the group was greeted by a few residents who were eager to check out the Harleys! Mary (seen below) took this opportunity to sit on Sheri Sandoval’s Deluxe and give everyone a big wave!
With bags in hand the group proceeded inside the facility. The workers from Graybrier collected all the items and stored them in a room to be handed out to the residents at a later time. It was a great day of giving back to the community.

Many thanks to Kim Poteat, Sheri Sandoval, Joey Steele, Delbert & Kim Hinshaw, Rhonda Hess, Melanie Cooke, and the HP Hog road captains for helping to make this ride a success!
