Meet at the Crow High School at 9:30am and a group will eventually wind up at the Vincent Creek Campground on the Smith River Road, east of Reedsport. And in the spirit of last year, BMWOR will be grilling and serving some food from 11:30am to 1:30pm.

    OREGON DISCOVERY RALLY UPDATE

We now only have about ten spots left for the September dualsport rally, so if you're interested in participating, you'll want to act quickly. Click here for more details about the rally.

RIDES FORMAT UPDATE: You have spoken and we are responding. As before, we will provide a meeting time at the dealership for individuals that want to ride together to our designated destination. If you want to ride with us, we request that you read and sign a liability release waiver; otherwise, you're more than welcome to ride your own route, at your own pace, and simply meet us at the destination! Hopefully, this format will provide the best opportunity for our customers to participate in whatever way they feel most comfortable.

PLEASE NOTE: For legal reasons, rides are not officially organized by BMW Motorcycles of Western Oregon; therefore, riding to and from a meeting destination is clearly at the will and discretion of each individual and participants are solely responsible for themselves.

    NEW BMW MOTORCYCLE INVENTORY

Our showroom is full of new motorcycles! We have GSs, RTs, LTs, K1200Ss, K1200Rs, STs, and still a few demo units as well as Harley Davidson police motors!

And if you haven't heard already, BMW repositioned the price on the F650GS and F650GS Dakar models last fall. Given that the average drop in price was ove $1K, the FGS models have seen tremendous sales during the winter and spring months. So, if you have always liked one of those two models and you've been saving your pennies, now is the time to make a purchase, because at the current rate, we'll likely sell out of them before the summer is through!

    NEW BMW MOTORCYCLE MODELS

2006 is shaping up to be a great year for BMW. We finally have details on the delivery of the following new models:

  • R1200GS Adventure: This motorcycle will arrive to US retailers in late March, just in time for the Make Tracks Spring Open House events in April. The latest model in BMW's GS family is as gnarly as ever. It's truly the R1200GS on steroids - larger windscreen, voluminous fuel tank, knobby tires, fairing/engine protection bars, and options like aluminum panniers made for BMW by Touratech, and discretely placed supplemental lights.

  • K1200GT: We'll see this incarnation of the new transverse 4 cylinder in late May. With easily adjustable handlebars, I think most riders will find the seating position very customizable and virtually as upright as the R1200RT! New option offerings such as Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) and automatically controlled heated handlebar controls makes the new K1200GT a wonderful touring bike.

  • R1200S: As BMW continues to make inroads in new market segments, the R1200S helps facilitate growth into the sport segment. The lightest weight, greatest horsepower outputting boxer will likely turn heads as never before. Stealth, power, and a new anti-lock braking system (ABS) that can be disabled for track days will certainly attract new blood to the marque.

  • F800S/ST/R: The US will not see this bike in 2006. A stunt version of this bike is making its way to popular motorcycle events in the US, but BMW will to make a big splash with this bike in the US probably in the spring of 2007.

  • R1200?: BMW hasn't released any information yet, other than that we'll see another model later this year. We have our ideas and suspect that another R1200 series bike is in the works.

Due to the growing anticipation of these new models, we are seeing a growing list of downpayments for interested individuals. If you fall in this category, make sure you contact Diane at 541.338.0269 or via email at sales@bmwor.com.

So, stay tuned for images and more details.

    Referral Rewards

If you refer someone that purchases a motorcycle from BMWOR and they disclose that you referred them to us before the close of the sale, you will be rewarded with a $50 BMWOR Gift Certificate!!

    Pre-Owned Motorcycles

We routinely have pre-owned motorcycles in our inventory. Some of these motorcycles are trade-ins, while others are consignment bikes. The best way to know what we have in stock is to simply visit our website.

  • BMW Rallye 2 Suit Sale

We're making way for the new Rallye 2 Pro suit, so our remaining Rallye 2 Suits are 20% off!

    BMW NAVIGATOR II+ GPS

Garmin has teamed up with BMW to offer a $100 rebate for the purchase of the NAV II+. This puts the price of the NAV II+ competitive with Garmin's 2620; however, some of the features and functions of the NAV II+ are exclusive to BMW's version (i.e. database includes BMW Motorcycle Dealer locations, flash memory for the map data, an exclusive cradle for your motorcycle, and a 2 year warranty). This promotion expires 05/31/06 and cannot be combined with other offers.

    Gift Certificates

BMWOR Gift Certificates are available for the "tough to shop for" individual. Gift certificates can be made for any amount and can be used for parts & accessories purchases, riding gear, service, and motorcycle purchases.

    Service Scheduling

Well it's already March and the sun has started showing itself back in Oregon, so service appointment phone calls have picked up. At this time, we're about two weeks or so out on scheduling appointments for service customers. With this in mind, now is the time to call and arrange for an appointment.

Whether it's something something simple like an oil change or something a little more time consuming like a 12K Service plus an Annual Service; by making an appointment, we can block out specific time to address your needs. In taking this approach, the Service Department is doing a great job of getting regular services finished within a one-day timeframe.

    Pick-Up & Delivery Service

This offering has started to gain popularity; in fact, we have a dedicated person to pick-up and delivery of motorcycles. Many of you may have known him for some time and if not, you'll probably recognize his name...Gene Fessenbecker.

If your schedule still demands you split your free-time among chores and play, give us a call and we can reduce one less item from your to-do list! And if you can recruit a friend to also participate in the Pick-Up & Delivery Service, both of your costs can be reduced. Actual cost will vary depending on location and number of bikes being picked up.

Thanks to those of you that submitted images for the BMWOR 2006 Calendar. We dedicated the calendar to Sam Dallas-Dinwiddie and had a great collection of images from which to choose. We had fun producing this calendar and look forward to your help for the 2007 calendar.

The BMWOR 2006 Calendar (see left sidebar for a collage) included images from the following BMW enthusiasts: Bruce & Carol Wallace (Bend), Madelyn Russell (Eugene), Ken Froebig (Eugene), Jim Sims & Ann Bartley (Springfield), Dana White (Beaverton), Peter Vanish (Springfield), Francis Eatherington (Roseburg), Pete Day (Eugene), Bill Mullen (Wheeler), and Riley West (Eugene). We still have a couple copies of the calendar left for a cost of $12.00.

So, now we're seeking photos for the BMWOR 2007 Calendar. As a small point of clarification, we're interested in images of your BMW Motorcycle in a landscape without people/riders present. If you would like your images to be considered for the calendar, please email them to info@bmwor.com.

    Employment Opportunities

As our business grows, we have continued to add staff members to help us cover the bases and offer our customers unparalleled service. So, the next time you visit the dealership, you may see some new faces among our staff members. Some of these faces may be familiar, but new to the dealership. Since September of 2005, we've added the following individuals to our staff:

  • Gene Fessenbecker, Pick-Up & Delivery Service Coordinator While Gene is not a full-time employee, his efforts and commitment mirror that of a full-time employee. Gene's primary responsibility is helping us to provide the Pick-Up & Delivery Service. So don't be surprised to see Gene knocking on your door if you request us to pick-up or deliver your motorcycle.

  • David Hall, BMW Certified Technician David joined us in November as a full-time BMW Certified Technician. David has been a wonderful addition to the Service Department and makes an effort to go the extra mile for our customers.

  • Lin Hamlin, Parts Advisor Lin started in late January and has been working with Doug to field parts calls and purchases. Lin is an avid motorcyclist and brings her experience in parts and accessories to us from Touratech. So the next time you come in, be sure to say hi and introduce yourself to Lin. And don't be surprised when you learn that she owns more motorcycles than about 99% of our customers!

  • Lora VanDerBroek, Service Advisor Lora will be starting later this month as our Service Advisor. Lora comes to us from the Colorado frontrange and help us raise the bar in the Service Department. Her primary responsibilities will be service scheduling, and checking bikes in/out of service. Scott with be working with Lora over the next month to ensure a smooth transition. Please help us welcome Lora by introducing yourself during your next visit.

BMWOR is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We offer a comprehensive benefit packages for eligible employees and wages are commensurate with experience.

  • Please help us congratulate Fred Hasse of Eugene on traveling over 200,000 miles on BMW Motorcycles! Way to go Fred! And, we can't forget that a number of those miles were put on BMWs with his trusty, fun-loving co-pilot, Gladys.

If you know that you've accumulated enough miles to qualify for one of BMW's mileage awards, bring your documentation into the shop and have Scott submit the paperwork. It's that easy!
