Introducing...
Liberty
Elizabeth
Hernley
Liberty
is
5
years
old
and
lives
with
her
mother
Debbie
in
Pennsylvania.
Her
grandfather,
Tim
Dishong,
lives
in
the
area
and
is
a
friend
of
Colonial
Harley.
Liberty
was
born
with
a
broken
bone
in
her
neck
that
most
likely
happened
during
delivery.
There
was
no
treatment
except
for
limiting
movement.
The
bone
eventually
healed
but
at
9
months
Liberty
was
having
difficulty
sitting
up,
crawling
and
focusing.
Her
doctor
sent
her
to
a
development
unit
at
Children’s
Hospital
in
Pittsburgh.
She
was
first
diagnosed
as
being
developmentally
delayed—problems
with
motor
skills,
coordination
and
muscle
weakness.
She
received
therapy
3
times
a
week
and
at
11
months
got
her
first
pair
of
glasses.
At
the
age
of
one,
the
therapy
increased
and
she
was
given
braces
to
help
her
walk.
When
she
turned
three,
the
neurologist
referred
her
to
a
genetics
doctor
only
to
discover,
through
extensive
testing,
that
she
has
a
rare
chromosome
disorder
and
is
missing
chromosome
15.
In
addition,
she
underwent
eye
surgery
on
both
eyes
to
tighten
some
of
the
muscles
and
to
correct
her
vision.
In
May
of
2009,
she
was
diagnosed
with
epilepsy
but
even
with
medication
she
is
still
experiencing
seizures.
Most
recently
she
had
been
in
the
hospital
for
further
testing
to
diagnose
the
cause
of
her
headaches,
getting
sick
to
her
stomach,
dizziness
and
difficulty
walking.
The
doctors
are
unable
to
find
the
cause
of
her
problems
and
as
of
today
do
not
have
a
diagnosis
for
her
new
health
issues.
Immediately
following
the
Chapter
meeting
money
collected
will
be
donated
to
the
family
to
help
with
Liberty’s
medical
bills!
