Chapter Ride - 50/50 Rule
The 50/50 Rule is very basic: if the outside temperature is below 50 degrees; or we have a forecast of precipitation of 50% or more then the ride is cancelled. This will allow everyone to know that status before departing for the ride. However, don’t let this stop you from riding if you so desire.

June 2010 Newsletter

A Note From The Editor
I just wanted to take a few minutes to say thank you to all of the volunteers who have helped with events so far this year. Also a big thank you to our sponsor’s and members for their continued support of the chapter. There are a lot of neat things coming up over the next few months and we hope that we will see you all there. We have the Father’s Day potluck coming up at the June meeting and JR is working on a H.O.G. night at the Races for Saturday July 3rd so check the website for all the details on that. The end of July is a Chapter ride to Paducah, KY—watch for more information on the website and in next month’s newsletter. In August we have the MO State H.O.G. Rally in Columbia August 26-28 and then in September we have Bike Fest at the Lake of the Ozarks Dealership. We will have a booth set up on Friday and Saturday and can use all the help we can get. In October we have our annual Road Kill Picnic and Chapter Photo and start taking nominations for 2011 officers. Finally in December we will have Pictures with Santa and our Christmas Party which will be held at the Pavilion at Ozark Harley Davidson. We look forward to seeing you all soon. Please come out and join us for what we hope to be a very exciting next 6 months.

One thing that I would like to remind everyone of is that this is YOUR chapter. If you have ideas for a ride or an activity, please contact one of your officers and we will see what we can do to get it planned.

Tammie

Happily Married Biker
Badass Biker Bob wakes up at home with a huge hangover. He forces himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins and a glass of water on the table.

He sits up and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed. Bob looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, spotless, clean. So is the rest of the house.

He takes the aspirins and notices a note on the table: “Honey, breakfast is on the stove, I left early to go shopping. Love you.”

So he goes to the kitchen, and sure enough there is a hot breakfast and the morning newspaper. His son is also at the table, eating.

Bob asks, “Son, what happened last night?”

His son says, “Well, you came home after 3AM, drunk and delirious, broke some furniture, puked in the hallway, and gave yourself a black eye when you stumbled into the door.”

Confused, Badass Bob asks, “So, why is everything in order and so clean, and breakfast in on the table waiting for me?”

His son replies, “Oh, that! Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your pants off, you said, “Lady, leave me alone, I’m married!”

Name Badge Order
We have started a new list for name badges. Get your name on the list now. We need 12 badges for an order. Name badges are $8.00 each. Let an officer know what name you want on your badge and we will put you on the list.

The Secretary's Corner
Our May meeting was held at Lake of the Ozarks Dealership in Osage Beach. It was raining outside but we had a good meeting anyways. Several brave members rode in spite of the rain.

Treasurer, Karen DeCastro we had an account balance of $725.86. No Formal Treasurer's report was presented at the meeting.

Activities Officer, Guy Danielsannounced the Dice run that was rained out on 24 April will not be rescheduled. He also reminded everyone that the Freedom Rally will be held in Buckhorn Memorial Weekend. Admission is $30 for non FORR members or $25 for members.

Dealership/Sponsor, Missy Jemes Missy announced there will be a dealer ride to Milwaukee. There will be a VIP tour of the Harley Museum with some behind the scene areas most visitors would not have access to. Ride will depart Lebanon on Friday, 18 Jun and return on Sunday, 20 Jun. A meal is planned for Saturday at “Joey Buona’s”, one of Jack’s favorite Milwaukee restaurants. If interested please get with Jenna or Melissa to put your name on the list. Sounds like a good time for all that will be attending.

Director, Bill DeCastro announced that they currently have 6 signed up for the ride to Milwaukee to celebrate Women Riders 20-21 May. The next dinner ride will be held on 2 Jun and will be going to the Rocking Chair Restaurant in Conway. Ride will depart the Lebanon dealership promptly at 6:15 pm. On 20 Jun the chapter will be celebrating Father’s Day with a potluck at the pavilion behind the dealership. The chapter will be providing meats, chips, drinks and condiments. Please bring your special dish to share with the chapter members and help make this another memorable Father’s Day for all our men. There will be a Chapter touring ride 23-25 July to Paducah Kentucky, more to follow next month. A ride to St Louis is being planned for 20-22 Aug to visit the sights and maybe attend a ball game. There is also some interest in planning a ride to Zip-Line in Eminence, MO. Anyone interested in this event should let one of the officers know so we can lock it on our calendar if there is enough interest.

Brian talked about registration for the 2010 MO State H.O.G. Rally and volunteering. He also mentioned that the 2011 MO State H.O.G. Rally will be held at the Lake of the Ozarks. He did say that the Dealer Ride to Milwaukee is a Chapter Challenge event.

Terry Jones announced that he and Sue will be making a ride to St Joseph, MO over the Memorial Day Weekend. They have lots of historic sites and fun planned if anyone is interested in joining them. If interested contact him and he will provide all the details.

Door Prizes won by: Karen DeCastro, Tammie Black, Debbie Crawley, Sandy Gentry and Sue Jones. 50/50 was won by Mark Post

Cold Stone Creamery was great and I thoroughly enjoyed my ice cream in a waffle bowl. Yummy. I would also like to thank Charlie for the pie. I think that was the best pie I have had in a long time.
