The Nation of Patriots tour stops in Staunton on its 100 day journey of 48 contiguous states. This nationwide effort honors all of America's Armed Forces, past, present and future by passing one American Flag around the country. The goal is 100 stops in 100 days with 100 flag bearers covering 12,500 miles in one summer. Shenandoah Harley Owners Group is one of three chapters in the state of Virginia to be asked to handle and escort the flag.

On Wednesday the 23th, Winchester HOG will arrive at our dealership at about 1:00 pm to hand off the flag to our HOG road captain, Dave McCormick.

On Thursday the 24th, S.V.H.O.G. will escort Dave and the flag to the Roanoke Dealership to hand the flag over to the Roanoke Chapter, they will then escort the flag to Bluefield , W.VA. Anyone wishing to join the S.V.H.O.G. chapter on this ride is welcome!

As its our State Rally weekend, we will have two groups going out at the same time. One going to the State Rally and one going to Roanoke, then to the State Rally.

Both groups will be leaving the dealership at 8:00 am, with the flying of the flag leaving first. If anyone has any questions, Please contact Slayer at 448-3688

Fallen Solider Coming Home
News from Kay Kibler, Ladies Aux of Chimney Rock VFW 9660
News of Spc. Brian "Bucky" Anderson: Sunday, June 20 Bucky will be coming home. The escort will get off I-81 at the New Market exit, travel Rt 211 to Timberville, then up the Bluff to the Grandle Funeral Home. It is estimated the escort should be getting to New Market around 2pm. Bring your flag and welcome him home. If you are receiving this and live north of Rockingham County, you may be able to be along the route somewhere and show your respect. I may be in contact with the escort on Sunday morning to get an idea of where they are during the drive back. Family visitation is Mon, June 21, 6-9pm at BHS. Funeral services are Tues, June 22, 2pm at BHS. Burial will be at Linville Creek Church across the street from the High School. ********************************************************* Bucky's mother is a member of the Ladies Aux of Chimney Rock VFW 9660. Last tuesday she attended her first meeting and on Saturday she received the news of her son being killed in Afghanistan. This has been an incredibly difficult week for everyone that knew Bucky and his family. Continue to pray for strength for the family as they get ready to lay Bucky in this resting place. The outpouring of compassion this community has shown is incredible! Please continue to honor Bucky and pray for our soldiers that continue to fight for our country. And pray for all the families across this Nation that are going thru this same experience that the Anderson family is going thru now. We may not know who they are but know that there are many of them out there.

Thanks to those who attended RV6 and heard to call of the open gas tank! We raised $639.00 for 1st SGT John Davis and his soldiers in Afghanistan, which means once SHD matches that amount we will be purchasing $1,378.00 worth of items to be shipped asap. We’ll take some pictures and post them on our web site when we assemble the goodies.

Thanks for attending and thanks to all who donated!
