Chapter Ride - 50/50 Rule
The 50/50 Rule is very basic: if the outside temperature is below 50 degrees; or we have a forecast of precipitation of 50% or more then the ride is cancelled. This will allow everyone to know that status before departing for the ride. However, don’t let this stop you from riding if you so desire.

Group Riding Seminar
Ozark Harley-Davidson is presenting a group riding seminar on Saturday, August 21st starting at 1PM. The seminar will be held in the customer lounge. There will be a short video presentation followed by a question and answer session. Following the seminar, we will hold a short group ride to demonstrate the skills learned in the seminar (weather permitting).

We have started a new list for name badges. Get your name on the list now. We need 12 badges for an order. Name badges are $8.00 each. Let an officer know what name you want on your badge and we will put you on the list.

Did you ride?
The goal was 5 million miles.
The results are in and H.O.G. members rode 4,324,240 miles on the third annual Million Mile Monday.

The Harley Owners Group is much more than just a motorcycle organization. It’s one million people around the world united by a common passion: making the Harley-Davidson dream a way of life. For more information visit www.hog.com.

Ozark Mountain Chapter Of Lebanon #2575

July 2010 Newsletter

Director's Note
Karen and I missed the Fathers Day Meeting because we were on the way to St George Utah, for the combined Colorado-Utah State HOG Rallies. The rally starts at St George, through Zion National Park, to the north rim of the Grand Canyon, and on to Page, Arizona at Lake Powell. From there to Four Corners, ending at Durango, Colorado, with 2 days of rally events. The riding and the scenery will be fantastic.
Don’t forget July 23-25 is the Chapter Touring Ride to Kentucky. We will stay at Country Inn & Suites in Paducah Ky. There are rooms available, but you have to make reservations through Country Inn website. If you click on view more rates, then on advance purchase, rooms are only $66.25. Otherwise you will pay at least $20.00 more per room. We will leave Ozark Harley at 9am.
If you are going to the Missouri State Rally in Columbia, why not also volunteer for a 2 hour shift. Previous volunteers know this can be fun and rewarding. Our chapter probably has the least number of volunteers in the state. If you have never been to a State Rally or have never volunteered then do it this year! Karen and I volunteered for double shifts, so come join us.

Assistant Director's Corner
Greetings Y'all !!! Hope all the hot weather hasn't melted any of ya yet, and speaking of hot weather I'll take this opportunity to remind everyone to remember to stay hydrated while your out in the heat and especially when your riding. I'd like to thank our Sponsors for opening the Pavilion back up to us, and say WOW what a change it's really looking awesome in there and I hear there's more to come. I would also like to thank Tammie Black for taking over on our Father's Day potluck and Debi Fleming for helping on the grill, y'all did a great job and thanks to all who brought side dishes and desserts, also thank you to Rebecca Hamilton for filling in for our Secretary who wasn't able to be here. Thanks to all who showed up for our meeting and potluck, a good time was had by all with good food and fellowship. Now on to other things, this Chapter according to the H.O.G. membership roster has 298 members and we are averaging about 30-40 in attendance at our meetings which is less than 15% I would like to encourage everyone to contact fellow members who aren't attending and invite them to come to our meetings. After all it's not the Officers or the Sponsors who make up this group, it's the members. All of us Officers and our Sponsors are here for you the members and we willingly volunteer our time to try to make this an interesting and fun Chapter to be a part of, but we can't do it on our own and we need everyone's input and participation. So, if there is anyplace you want to go or anything that you think the group might enjoy doing please don't hesitate to ask "your" Officer's and we will try to" make it happen.” But don't be surprised if we ask you to help in the planning and implementing of your idea. Remember, like Hilary Clinton said " it takes a village"...LOL. Remember to support our local Sponsors-Ozarks Harley-Davidson and I'll see ya at our upcoming events. DON'T FORGET REGISTRATION FOR OUR MO. STATE H.O.G. RALLY CLOSES JULY 9TH and DON'T FORGET TO VOLUNTEER!!! Well that's all I got for this time so until I see y'all again remember to RIDE, HAVE FUN, and above all BE SAFE .

J.R.

Milwaukee Women's Event
Hello Lady Riders,

For those of you who didn’t go with us you missed a great time of fellowship with the Women Riders in Milwaukee. Karen Davidson said there are now about 23% HOG riders as women. There were five other counties represented along with the US.
It was a wet soppy rainy two day ride up, and on Saturday the fog off Lake Michigan was thick enough to cut with a knife. Eating at the restaurant at the Museum was an experience. Next time the four of us will order one meal with four forks.
We learned lots of information, got training in self defense, and had a great passport ride all over the city, and received a special charm for participating. The parade was lots of pink rumbling thru the streets of Milwaukee. I think this will be an annual event for us, but next time we need to take pink feather boas.
